Job Description

About GameChanger

We believe in the life changing impact youth sports have on and off the field. Sports encourage leadership, teamwork, responsibility, and confidence – important life lessons that have the power to propel our youth toward meaningful futures. We recognize that without coaches, parents, and volunteers, organized youth sports could not exist. By building the first and best place to experience the youth sports moments important to our community, we are helping families elevate the next generation through youth sports.

So if you love sports and their community building potential, or building cool products is your sport, GameChanger is the team for you. We are a remote-first, dynamic tech company based in New York City, and we are solving some of the biggest challenges in youth sports today.

The Position

At GameChanger we score and stream millions of youth sports games annually. As the PM on the Video team, you will work with a talented team of engineers to develop our video pipeline end to end, iterate on our live stream and post-game video capabilities, simplify the developer experience for our internal product teams, and ensure we have a scalable and resilient platform to handle millions of streams annually.

Video continues to be central to our ambitious strategy to revolutionize how youth sports teams capture, analyze, and improve their game. You will work closely with your product management peers to drive user experiences that bring the magic of GameChanger to every team.

What You’ll Do
  • Collaborate closely with other feature teams to contribute to GC’s overall vision for video streaming technology, influence product decisions, and build video capabilities.

  • Partner with engineering & our infrastructure teams to manage a resilient, scalable, and efficient video pipeline in AWS.

  • Analyze external and internal user and business need through user interviews, data analysis, and market research and continually measure and improve the live and VOD streaming experiences based on findings.

  • Ensure that your team is prioritizing the most important and impactful work.

  • Launch fast and iterate often with a talented team of engineers.

  • Build consensus among your peers across engineering, design, marketing, and business development.

  • Document, manage, and monitor product KPIs and metrics to ensure they’re aligned and performing across teams.

What You’ll Bring
  • Strong background in video and audio streaming, with a focus on user-generated content live streaming technologies.

  • Solid understanding of software engineering principles and architectures in a resilient, scalable, and secure video cloud infrastructure (we use AWS), particularly in video streaming.

  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to the long-term vision of the product team.

  • Demonstrated success in leading teams with a focus on collaboration and achieving high-quality product goals.

Who You Are:
  • 5+ years of experience in product management or product engineering, ideally with a focus on video or live streaming in mobile-first applications.

  • Proven success in delivering complex technical solutions that solve real-world problems, either for customers or internal stakeholders in your organization.

  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing large scale projects and achieving positive user outcomes across multiple engineering teams and domains.

  • Exceptional communicator who embodies storytelling skills, including written, verbal, and numeric communication. You should be able to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Working knowledge of software development cycles including infrastructure, continuous integration, developer tooling, open source use, and documentation.

  • Experience with data-informed decision-making as well as comfort working with ambiguity and using intuition alongside data to drive the platform forward.

Perks
  • Work remotely or from our well-furnished, modern office in Manhattan, NY.

  • Unlimited vacation policy.

  • Paid volunteer opportunities.

  • WFH stipend - $500 annually to make your WFH situation comfortable.

  • Snack stipend - $60 monthly to have snacks shipped to your home office.

  • Full health benefits - medical, dental, vision, prescription, FSA/HRA., and coverage for family/dependents.
