Description

 

SUMMARY

 

Hallmark Media is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager for the Hallmark Movies Now (HMNow) Subscription Video On Demand service, with a focus on third party platforms and integrations. In this role, you will be accountable for strategic vendor implementations and integrations, as well as ongoing upgrades and releases.

 

You will collaborate closely with other product leaders, technical operations, and external partners to drive measurable business impact. The Hallmark Media tech stack is built on several third party solutions, and this role is at the nexus of our mission critical partnerships. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Product Strategy - Define and manage the overarching Technical Product strategy for the SVOD business across streaming, authentication, and entitlement tools, identifying and balancing business desires, budget, subscriber needs and technology constraints/capabilities, all laddering up to accomplish the desired business impact.
  • Liase with technical leads in evaluation of technologies.  Develop detailed product features and requirements by working closely with business stakeholders, oversees implementation plans, product execution and analysis of results. 
  • Product Roadmap - Prioritize initiative requests to effectively create a product roadmap for the SVOD platform stack. Work with third party vendors to influence their platform roadmaps and identify critical areas for improvement.
  • Technical SME – Be the subject matter expert who knows the vendor platform capabilities and integrations inside and out, able to effectively bring technical teams together to collaborate, integrate and troubleshoot. Able to train and drive adoption by other key partners.
  • Product Delivery - Create and ensure high quality product delivery via vendor partners, from story creation and prioritization through launch.
  • Stakeholder Management - Collaborate with key executive stakeholders, balancing competing interests and needs across the organization to arrive at a clear vision, communicating effectively and aligning various partners along the way.
  • Serves as a resource to other Product Managers, assisting them in the resolution of semi-complex problems. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams to envision new product features.  Coordinates among a wide range of cross-functional internal and external resources to ensure that products are delivered per specifications, within budget and on schedule.
  • Vendor Management – Understand vendor roadmap and optimal implementation of tools.  Collaborate effectively with internal and external development partners to ensure appropriate sizing, scoping and delivery of key initiatives to achieve business impact. Manage integrations of multiple vendors, ensuring strong collaboration and seamless integration points.
  • User Acceptance Testing - Oversee UAT of key initiatives, ensuring high quality and timely launches
  • Impact Assessment - Define metrics for success and measure impact of initiative launches.
Qualifications

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Strong Technical Product management skills, with 5 or more years of progressively complex related experience managing technical third party implementations and integrations (>3 years Technical Product management experience).
  • Deep experience in the SVOD industry or direct-to-consumer subscription products, with understanding of the technical and client experience differences between web, apps, TV platforms.
  • Experience with one or more of the following platforms and/or their direct competitors: Accedo One, Aptitude, Akamai, Sailthru.

 

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Understanding of how front-end applications interact with back-end API services and understanding of payments/payment processing concepts.
  • Superior relationship-building, influence, communication and negotiation skills within cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of the Hallmark Media customer target, with an ability to identify and articulate opportunities to help grow audiences.
  • Nimble and flexible with regards to changing priorities & business needs, and in managing diverse teams & people.
  • Proven multi-tasking skills, ability to meet critical deadlines.
  • Expertise with Agile development, understanding not just the flow of the process, but the rhythm, focus and collaboration it provides.

 

 

The salary range for this job is between $114,100 - $145,400 annually. Salary rate will take into consideration several factors including location.
