In this pivotal managerial role, we are seeking an individual who possesses a unique blend of design acumen, construction expertise, and exceptional project management skills. The Senior Technical Design Manager will play a key role in bridging the gap between Technical Design and quality control, ensuring that our projects are not only visually stunning but also practical and constructible.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate design engineering consultants to align with project objectives.

  • Manage project schedules to ensure timely execution.

  • Provide guidance and expertise in the review process of drawings, evaluating their practicality and constructibility.

  • Collaborate with designers to identify optimal construction methods, such as selecting appropriate hardware and materials.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in architectural and construction principles, with a strong background in engineering and mechanical design.

  • Conduct quality control assessments to verify design dimensions, fabrication suitability, and construction practicality.

  • Recognize missing elements in design and construction plans and propose solutions.

  • Conduct comprehensive dimensioning reviews to guarantee accurate project specifications.

  • Oversee the fabrication and constructability of designs, ensuring alignment with structural and mechanical requirements.

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of high-end construction standards.

  • Identify potential conflicts between design and structural/mechanical aspects and provide innovative resolutions.

  • Act as a liaison between the design team and quality control measures, ensuring project accuracy.

  • Evaluate the suitability of design prints and make necessary adjustments.

  • Exhibit expertise in materials, hardware, and construction techniques to ensure designs are both aesthetic and functional.

  • Provide guidance on securing materials and holding fixtures for construction purposes.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Degree or certification relevant to architecture, fabrication, or construction preferred.

  • Substantial experience (5+ years) in the architecture and/or construction industry with a strong focus on construction and architectural expertise.

  • Versatile experience in high-end residential projects.

  • Proficiency in Revit, BIM, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, and adaptability with new software tools.

  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills.

  • Ability to thrive under tight deadlines while delivering high-quality work.

  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.

  • Familiarity with International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), and municipal codes/ordinances.
