Located in Chapel Hill, NC Blackman & Sloop, CPAs, P.A. is a single-office firm with approximately 45 full-time staff. As a locally based accounting firm, we facilitate our clients' ambitions to expand throughout the Research Triangle area, state, and country, while still providing each client the personal time and attention on which we pride ourselves.

Job Description
Blackman & Sloop is seeking an experienced tax accountant with specialized experience in the preparation and/or review of fiduciary tax returns. This position focuses primarily on trust, estate, gift and personal tax compliance for our high net-worth clients.
You will be expected to manage clients independently and possess excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills. Responsibilities:
- Apply tax knowledge to preparation and/or review of individual, trust, estate and gift returns.
- Work effectively in analyzing estate and trust documents.
- Gather data from client and third party sources
- Perform tax research with view for compliance and alternatives to satisfy client's objections
- Client management and participation in marketing/business development
- Participation in recruitment and supervision of entry-level staff
Requirements:
- Experience with preparation and/or review of high-net-worth individual, estate, trust and gift returns.
- Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines.
- Excellent work ethic and a sense of humor are a must!
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 - 5 years of experience with a CPA firm
- Credentials – CPA/EA license or candidate
- Knowledge of CCH Axcess Tax and CCH Engagement
