It is an exciting time to be a part of the Finance team at Hill's Pet Nutrition. Our highly energetic and focused Finance Team is dedicated to driving growth for Hill's in this constantly evolving landscape. As the Senior Federal/InternationalTax Analyst, you will work frequently with partners outside the Corporate office, including Finance personnel at foreign subsidiaries and the Colgate Corporate Tax team in New York.  This position will be located at the Hill’s Corporate office in Overland Park.

 

What You Will Do

This position will support the Tax Senior Manager and Tax Director in administering, understanding and complying with the tax laws imposed by Federal and International taxing jurisdictions.  Below is an outline of the principal duties and responsibilities this position will manage:

 

  • Work with foreign subsidiaries to request, gather, and review tax provision files for actuals and projections throughout the year

  • Work with foreign subsidiaries to request and review Foreign Tax Credit Questionnaires

  • Prepare federal income tax returns for Hill’s Pet Nutrition legal entities, including preparation in Onesource income tax software, working in partnership with Colgate Corporate Tax team to finalize. Maintain ongoing analysis and planning from a Federal tax perspective, and monitor for tax events or law changes that impact federal tax reporting

  • Maintain a database of critical documents on the network, including calculations for tax credits and deductions, tax rate reconciliations, transfer pricing reports and relevant legal agreements. Assist in gathering & filing critical documents for foreign subsidiaries (statutory financials, final provision files, tax returns).

  • Manage country-by-country reporting for foreign subsidiaries

  • Maintain an improved international tax filing database

  • Support other Tax Department members as required to meet the goals and objectives of the department

  • Assist with accumulation and preparation of data as required to satisfy various audits

  • Partner with Colgate Corporate Tax to support US International tax calculations or filings

  • Analyze and suggest changes as a result of any new US or global tax reform

  • Implement automation and/or analytics tools to improve any tax or reporting processes

  • Assist with other financial or tax related projects or duties that may be assigned by Management

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or tax required

  • 2+ years working in Public Accounting/Private Tax Department required

  • US Federal tax experience required

  • Understanding of US GAAP Tax Reporting required

  • Knowledge of other areas of Finance (such as Treasury, Budget and Planning, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of Google tools or MS Office tools and Microsoft Excel

 

Preferred Requirements

  • MBA or Masters in Taxation

  • US International tax experience or knowledge of US International Tax concepts (such as FTC and Subpart F, etc.)

  • Working knowledge/experience using automation or analytics tools (Alteryx, Domo, etc.)

  • Working knowledge/experience with an enterprise system (SAP, etc.)

  • Working knowledge/experience using tax software tools (OneSource or BNA Fixed Assets, etc.) or tax research tools (such as Bloomberg, Checkpoint) skills

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $88,000 - $120,000 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:

  • Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
  • Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
  • Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
  • Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
  • Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
  • Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
