We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing tax team and help drive this mission forward. As Senior Tax Accountant, you will work directly with clients to create and recommend tax planning and savings strategies, prepare complex business and individual tax returns, and identify and offer additional client service opportunities from our suite of services.

Responsibilities

• Manage client relationships with a high standard of proactive communication
• Create and implement tax planning, projections, and savings strategies for business and individual clients
• Research and consult on complex tax matters and proactive tax solutions for clients
• Prepare complex business and individual tax returns for clients as well as workpapers that support those returns
• Identify and offer additional client service opportunities from our suite of services
• Keep accurate and up-to-date client information and tax records
• Collaborate with internal accounting, VCFO, and tax resolution teams to deliver holistic services to clients
• Actively contribute ideas for internal process improvements that create efficiencies for tax-related projects and an optimal client experience
• Maintain confidentiality with personal and sensitive data
• Participate in continuing education, study existing and new federal, state, and local legislation, and achieve required annual CPE credits
• Dependent upon experience, review tax returns and other work prepared by peers and other team members for accuracy and alignment with established client tax strategy, savings opportunities, and compliance with tax law
• Meet or exceed production and quality goals set by management

• Experience collaborating with additional client functions (such as Virtual CFO and accounting) and creating a holistic experience for clients on behalf of the firm

Qualifications and Experience

• A desire to help businesses grow and prosper with smart tax strategy and planning
• 3-5 years of tax experience in a firm including 1120, 1120S and 1065 income tax preparation
• Licensed CPA or EA preferred
• Extensive corporate/partnership/individual tax knowledge. Trust and estates tax knowledge a plus.
• Expertise in tax code, compliance and procedures with business clients
• High proficiency with tax, accounting, and office software
• Self accountable and detail-oriented
