Sr. Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining our client's mission critical network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Cisco equipment and technology. Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain mission critical, high availability network infrastructure, focusing on Cisco equipment and technology.
- Develop and implement network architecture plans, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Conduct thorough performance analysis and optimization of the network infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
- Troubleshoot complex network problems, identifying root causes and resolving issues promptly.
- Collaborate with other members of the IT team to ensure seamless integration of network services with other systems.
- Implement network security measures, adhering to industry best practices and standards.
- Monitor network performance, analyzing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers, contributing to their professional development.
- Keep up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in network engineering, evaluating their potential impact on our infrastructure and making recommendations for improvements.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on Cisco equipment and technology.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field (master's degree preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and routing protocols.
- Possess experience with WAN/LAN circuitry, including OC3, 0S3, T-1, Ethernet, and other high-speed data network technologies.
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with network management tools, such as Cisco Prime and other related tools.
- Strong understanding of security principles and compliance frameworks, including OWASP, NIST, and PCI.
- Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing large-scale network infrastructure projects.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly identify and resolve complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders.
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification is highly desirable.
Our estimated salary range for this position is $85,000-$150,000. This presented salary range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Offered salary is based on education, experience, geographic location, and possibly contractual requirements as appropriate to the role. *Salary could fall outside of this range.
