The Senior Systems Administrator has overall responsibility for maintaining the networks, servers, operating systems and communication links. Manage the resources dedicated to supporting office automation, PCs and end-user equipment, network and systems security and database administration.
Essential Duties:
- Responsible for prioritizing, categorizing, assigning, updating and resolving all IT help requests in accordance with HRCU's service standards.
- Responsible for network management, server management, data processing, cloud services, telecommunications, and other technology components.
- Provides primary support for the company's network, mobile devices, peripheral equipment, and PC/LAN servers which includes planning, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting network and system hardware and software. Responsible for patch management. Must monitor, troubleshoot, test, and approve/reject patches in accordance with HRCU's patch management procedures.
- Assist in the daily operations of the IT department with minimal direction. Effectively communicates with staff members about maintenance windows, outages, or any other staff impacting IT event.
- Responsible for planning, implementing, maintaining an otherwise supporting the PC hardware and software products, wide area communications, database systems, network and systems security and access controls.
- Responsible for maintaining the security of HRCU's IT systems and data. Must adhere to industry best practices for information security.
- Responsible for monitoring network, server, and telecommunication performance. Must be proactive in fixing issues before they become larger problems.
Minimum Requirements
- Proficient in VMware vSphere administration and configuration.
- Skilled in Microsoft/Office 365 and Azure AD administration.
- Experience with Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business.
- Competent with Windows Server 2019 and above.
- Profound understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related protocols.
- Capable in backup administration.
- Knowledgeable in network firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and/or other scripting languages.
- Experienced in managing end-user systems such as desktops, laptops, and mobile devices.
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware/software problems on servers, workstations, and other devices.
- Skilled in network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and documentation.
- Proficient in recommending, scheduling, and coordinating system improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases.
- Responsive to help desk tickets and able to assist in day-to-day IT operations.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for high-level tickets.
- 5+ years of experience in the Information Technology field.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with Azure Site Recovery for DR replication.
- Familiarity with SIEM and/or other security tools.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender ATP and Microsoft Security Center.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN solutions.
- Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Manager.
- Previous work experience in the Financial Services industry.
- College degree in a related field of study.
- Information Technology or Information Security certifications.
Skills and Abilities
- Extensive application support experience with Windows and Microsoft Office 365.
- Working knowledge of Email Systems and Management including Anti-virus, Spam Filters.
- Experience with Web Filtering Software and Features.
- Knowledge of Best Practices for software updates including Windows and 3rd party applications.
- Understanding of applicable data privacy practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly self-motivated and directed.
