Job Description SummaryThe NDT L3 - Renewables - Offshore Wind will work closely with the Offshore Wind Sourcing, Design Engineering, Product Service Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Management and Installation team, and the Global Supplier Quality team on all activities related to Non-Destructive testing auditing, qualification, RCA and new product development. Focus will be on suppliers based in EU

Essential Responsibilities:

As the NDT L3 - Offshore Wind - Fabrication, you will:

  • Perform audits and qualifications based on GE requirements for VT, MT, PT, UT, PAUT, TOFD, RT, ET for welded, forged and casted components
  • Create and execute NDT yearly audit plan for suppliers in EU
  • Ensure all OFW supply chain is meeting GE's requirements related to NDT
  • Participate in supplier design / engineering review and approval process and internal NPI (New Product Introduction) process.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA), FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) related to NDT
  • Train SQ community and suppliers on GE requirements and NDT techniques

Required Qualifications

  • Certified NDT L3 for VT, MT, PT, UT, (mandatory) PAUT, TOFD, RT and ET.
  • Fluent English - capable to lead NDT related conference calls, read drawings and procedures.
  • Proven experience performing NDTs as L2 and writing procedures and coordinating NDT activities as L3 for welded, forged and casted components, ideally in the wind industry.
  • Relevant auditing Experience.
  • Ability to work in cross functional and global team environments.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to70% as required.

Desired Characteristics

  • Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Fluent in another EU language, e.g. French, Spanish
  • Welding certification (IWE/CWI)
  • Coating certification (Frosio / Nace)
  • Supplier Quality Engineering experience
  • Quality training and/or related work experience (ISO 9001, IATF16949).
  • Lean Six Sigma trained and certified or equivalent quality training and certification. Experience on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Experience with APQP quality assurance tools and PPAP: Process Capability, Measurement Systems Analysis, Error Proofing, Statistical Process Control and FMEA.
  • Demonstrated program management, technical aptitude and a passion for quality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; RCA methods, 8D.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to explain and deal with complexity
  • Demonstrated leadership, influencing and organizational skills.
