Senior Substation Engineer

Our client is a nationally recognized provider of high and medium voltage electrical services to the electric utility, power generation, industrial, and renewable energy industries. They are looking for a Senior Substation Engineer to lead the engineering and design team.

• oversee schedules and budgets for multiple projects.
• perform engineering and design duties.
• organize all activities across a multidisciplinary team of drafters, designers, and various levels of engineers.
• ensure that projects are managed to meet quality, schedule and budget objective.
• supervise and coordinate all project activities to ensure on time completion.
• assign tasks to project design team based on project needs.
• work with project team to create or modify all design documents.
• develop one line diagrams, electrical plans, and specifications.
• ensure project team applies engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited university, (power focus is preferred).
• Licensed professional engineer, P.E. preferred.
• 10+ years of direct experience and proven knowledge in high voltage (138kV and above) electrical Substation Engineering and design field is required.
• Extensive knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals.
• Knowledge of common engineering application software.
• Strong Knowledge and understanding of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI.
• Must be able and willing to travel overnight for trainings and/or meetings as required (10%)
