SUMMARY

The Senior Strategic Sourcing Analyst is responsible for supporting the development and execution of Commodity or Category Strategies in coordination with the Commodity or Category Manager. Emphasis on Strategic Sourcing and supplier relationship management to manage volatility, ensure stability of the Supply Chain, mitigate risk, and deliver a competitive environment for the Enterprise. Responsibility for driving Supplier performance will be concentrated on quality, delivery, and cost management. This position will lead and execute tactically in collaboration with the Commodity or Category Manager as well as other functional areas including engineering, operations, RD&I, quality, and finance. Focus is on the development and implementation of highly strategic commodities, and highly complex and risky suppliers and/or projects. Planning and scope occur on an enterprise level.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for approximately $50-100 million dollars of spend

Cost management impact of 3% or greater of the value managed ($750K-$43M of savings)

Lead key initiatives and projects that drive value across the enterprise

Develop, leverage, and influence critical relationships with key stakeholders and organizations that foster improvements in the area of cost, quality, delivery and process.

Lead the development of the Commodity or Category Strategies for the area of responsibility in order to improve the position of the company.

Lead Commodity Reviews as necessary with the Commodity or Category Manager and Leadership

Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the commodity or category as it relates to business requirements, risk, market trends, supply base capabilities, cost factors and the effect on quality and reliability on the company's objectives

Lead complex negotiations and ensure agreements properly address risk, sustainability, balancing cost with operational considerations, utilizing the Commodity or Category Manager as appropriate for mentoring and development

Provides linkage on a regular basis to senior management to ensure expected results for commodities or categories.

Proactively perform financial analysis, analyze and align commodity or category and business requirements

Research and assess viable sources on a global level and perform supplier analysis.

Leads cross-functional supplier selection process for complex RFx to contract completion, including: RFx development, release and evaluation, Contract & SLA development, Negotiation strategy development and implementation, Final contract execution.

Provides leadership and consults with business functions on business opportunities.

Develops and implements new sourcing tools and leads initiatives to improve existing tools.

Mentors lower-level team members. Provides training to team and other cross functional team members as needed to ensure policy and business processes are followed.


QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Required BA or BS in Supply Chain, Business Management or related field of study

Demonstrated experience as a purchasing or supply chain professional with total cost management experience

8+ Years in Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement or related functional area

Ability to develop business case evaluations, strong background in market research and ability to negotiate win-win contracts and solutions

Results orientation - ensuring work is completed on time, on budget and within quality parameters

Ability to learn new commodity or category areas of focus without significant oversight and to do so in a relatively short period of time.

A proven leader, an ideal teammate who leads change, capable to hold others accountable, inspires others and is focused on the needs of the business.

Works independently within the constructs of the Commodity or Category Strategy

Expert level understanding of contract terms. Develops highly complex agreements. Strong in-depth understanding of purchasing law.

Expert understanding of order fulfillment supply chain process flow and enterprise processes.

Understands all components in managing projects and can lead a team through a highly complex project. Can plan, organize and lead cross functional teams through large scale projects with very broad and ambiguous initial objective and scope.

Possesses a basic understanding of short- and long-term corporate strategies and their implications on their assigned commodity or category.

Excellent communication skills (listening, writing and speaking), presentation skills (understands what level of detail to provide varying audiences) and facilitation skills

Expert in problem solving. Effective in the identification and resolution of issues, concerns or problems using formal problem-solving techniques.

Strong ability to think strategically and expert ability to develop and implement cross functional strategies

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
