Job description

Job Description: Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior Strategic Planner to provide contingency planning support to the USSPACECOM J5. This position requires an individual possessing a wide range of skills and demonstrated experience. The individual will conduct strategic analysis; develop an in-depth understanding of the strategic environment; assess strategic-, campaign-, and operational - level challenges; and assess operational risks in support of strategy development and contingency planning.

The individual will perform combatant command-level staff actions and advise mid- and senior-level military personnel on the development, coordination, and execution of USSPACECOM strategies and plans. Responsibilities: The candidate should have demonstrated experience in conducting strategic analysis, identifying strategic challenges and opportunities, and conducting strategic and operational risk assessments. A successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working on a high-level staff supporting senior-level military personnel and have the ability to translate national-level strategic objectives into actionable plans.Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 year's planning experience.Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

U.S Citizen Demonstrated proficiency in executing a military planning process (Joint Planning Process, Military Decision-Making Process, etc.). Demonstrated understanding of the Joint Planning Process (JPP). Demonstrated understanding of how to link strategic objectives to operational effects and tasks.

Demonstrated experience working on a high-level military staff. Excellent oral and written communications capabilities and critical thinking skills. Ability to collaboratively solve strategic and operational problems and to clearly and persuasively articulate the solution to decision makers.

Demonstrated experience providing briefings, presentations, and reports to senior level military personnel. Preferred Qualifications: Previous planning experience at operational/theater level (e.g., Combatant Command, Joint/Combined Task Force, Component). Experience integrating multi-domain operations.

Experience leading military strategic and/or contingency planning efforts. Master's degree in history, military studies, international relations, or a related field. Graduate of Joint Professional Military Education Level 2 (JPME II) Graduate of an advanced military planning school (e.g., School of Advanced Air and Space Science [SASS], School of Advanced Military Studies [SAMS], or School of Advanced Warfighting [SAW]).
