We are seeking to hire a Senior Strategic Buyer to join our dynamic, diverse, and rapidly growing Operations team located in our Pleasanton, CA facility. This position will be creating and implementing a strong supply chain strategy globally to support our business growth and increase customers’ satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement strong supply chain strategy globally.
- Build strong relationships with key suppliers / manufacturers.
- Identify and develop potential sources and improve approved vender list based on the best quality, cost, and delivery perspectives.
- Supply chain risk analysis based on single/sole suppliers, COO, lifecycle, and commodity. Work with engineering team to proactively find alternatives.
- Work with project cross-functional teams to identify project requirements from a sourcing perspective.
- Review and take appropriate action on Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) to minimize impacts on inventory and material planning for components. Set effective dates that minimize line down risk and excess inventory.
- Be a self-starter on multiple projects and provide guidance to internal and external customers on status and program risk.
- Work closely with global supply chain team for strategic development of suppliers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience in Purchasing in a production facility, preferably in an NPI and / or robotics environment.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ERP systems; preferably SAP, Oracle, JDE & Agile.
- Commodity Management (mechanical or electrical) and project management experience.
- Cost negotiation skills, detailed knowledge of buying, material planning, and forecasting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects successfully.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management.
- ‘Can do’ attitude to work within cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capable of articulating specific technical topics or assignments.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and offers new ideas.

The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $129,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance-based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
