Position
Eikon Therapeutics seeks a data protection focused Senior Storage Engineer to support our groundbreaking research efforts. This role is focused on preservation, protection, and presentation of the production data sets at Eikon.
About You
You are a detail-oriented Senior Storage engineer, with a healthy paranoia when it comes to the data for which you are responsible. You are comfortable working in environments where the user base does weird things to storage, and you are accustomed to the balancing act of protecting important data while ensuring the user community can accomplish their activities.
What You’ll Do
- This position is accountable for achieving and maintaining SLAs for production data sets.
- He or she is responsible for cross platform information lifecycle profiling and predictions.
- Design, test, deploy and maintain complex storage systems and management tools.
- Monitor and analyze the systems, establish measurement processes, track performance against applications and projects.
- Define and monitor threshold-alerting mechanisms.
- Provide 24x7 on-call storage support for all storage platforms on a rotational basis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology. -5+ years of progressively responsible, hands-on experience in IT.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in managing high performance SAN and NAS environments.
- Experience in Distributed NAS and Object storage technologies.
- Experience with on-site Object and Cloud Storage technologies e.g. Qumulo, Isilon, Quantum ActiveScale, MinIO, Cloudian, Tape (yes, Tape).
- Experience with reporting, analysis, backup and ILM technologies e.g. Starfish, Atempo, Commvault, Komprise.
- Proficient in Linux, Windows, and VMware administration and scripting – Python and shell scripting around database interaction, S3 CLI, S3API, and specific storage vendor REST APIs and Python wrappers for same.
- SQL proficiency highly desired.
- Experience in operational support of disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Practical experience in hands-on project implementations, project structure (both formal and informal), project life-cycle, and best practice project standards.
- Practical experience in the infrastructure technologies relevant for the support of application development, e.g. database, server, etc.
- Adept at balancing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Detail oriented.

The expected salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000 depending on skills, competency, and the market demand for your expertise.
