Job Overview
B&H's IS Operations team is seeking a seasoned Storage Architect with a strong background in both systems engineering and Storage Architecture to design, implement, and manage the infrastructure services for our dynamic business applications, including our website, ERP, WMS, and various others. This individual will ensure our infrastructure operates at peak performance and is scalable for B&H's future growth, with a focus on standardization, automation, and high availability.

Essential Responsibilities:
Minimum 7+ years in field, candidates should have a deep understanding of the following:
- Design and implement enterprise-class storage solutions, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery.
- Manage on-site and cloud data storage, data protection, and system deployments for critical storage systems across physical, virtual, and container platforms.
- Conduct storage engineering tasks, including requirements gathering, capacity planning, security hardening, performance tuning, and compliance with audits.
- Administration of enterprise storage environments, ensuring provisioning, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting are up to standard.
- Develop architecture for large-scale server implementations to meet business objectives.
- Research and evaluate new storage technologies, including various NAS, object, and block storage technologies, to improve services and reduce costs.
- Coordinate with the IS Facilities team, consultants, and external vendors for the integration and upgrading of server systems.
- Provide 24/7 emergency and support issue availability as part of an on-call rotation.
- Keep infrastructure within compliance standards, and maintain security levels including access, user accounts, and permissions.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Participates in on-call rotation and available 24hr (6d/wk, 365d/yr) for any emergency and support based issues.
- Lead, train, and provide support to junior administrators.
- Travel to IT expos to research innovative technologies.
- Attend off-site training courses.
Preferred Education, Experience and Licenses:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in a large-scale server production-grade environment.
- In-depth troubleshooting experience with Windows, Linux O/S, and back-end server configurations.
- Proficient with third party software integration.
- Experience with different server capabilities, compatibilities, and characteristics of complex server hardware.
- Strong working knowledge of UNIX, Solaris, and Linux operating systems.
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Expertise in managing a variety of data storage systems, including but not limited to HPE 3Par, Dell/EMC PowerMax, Unity, Isilon, Pure, NetApp NAS, and Brocade SAN fabric.
- Skilled in SAN switch technologies, including storage provisioning, LUN masking, zoning, performance tuning, and volume management.
- Experience with storage management tools like Brocade BNA & SANnav, Dell InsightIQ, Superna, PowerPath, Unisphere, SRDF, RecoverPoint, and SRM.
- Proficient in administering storage tools such as Veritas NetBackup, Veritas Cluster, with a strong understanding of cloud computing and virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Solaris Zones.
- Proficient in Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting for automation and configuration tasks.
- Knowledgeable in storage networking protocols such as SMB/CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, FC, NVMe, and FCoE.
- Ability to perform storage system performance tuning, capacity planning, and implement data protection strategies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for complex storage issues.
- Experienced in Brocade switch configuration and management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Familiar with the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Brocade SAN/WAN network infrastructure.
- Understanding of replication processes within Dell/EMC, Pure, and 3Par storage systems.
- Adept in enterprise-level hardware installation with a focus on ensuring system availability, stability, and performance.
- Knowledge of database systems and concepts, including Oracle, Informix, and MySQL.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical thinking and efficient research skills.
- Knowledge of B&H policies and procedures.
