Shift: Full Time Evenings (2:30pm-11pm)
- Must be flexible to rotate to weekend shifts and holiday rotation as needed
SR Sterile Processing Tech
The SR SPD Tech is responsible for the decontamination, sterilization, processing, distribution of supplies, linen, equipment for patient care and the operating room case cart system. A senior SPD Tech will come into this position with 2-3 years' experience in an OR setting
Displays integrity, dependability, good judgment and self-confidence under all conditions
Prioritizes workflow to maximize efficiency and provide adequate unit coverage
Anticipates needs of the department by providing adequate inventory levels at all times
Readily assists or performs SPD duties as needed or assigned
Oversees training of all new employees
Effectively communicates to the staff their responsibility concerning quality assurance, safety and departmental policies
Coordinates adequate communication between shifts
Performs evaluations of all staff members under his/her supervision
Routinely assists with department QA&I activities
Promotes a harmonious working environment
Investigates and evaluates new equipment and products to increase efficiency in the department
Represents the section at departmental and interdepartmental meetings
Readily assumes responsibility for the staffing and routine management of the department during assigned shift
Responds positively to problems and acts decisively in response.
Assists in annual inventory and/or cycle counts
Inputs all data necessary to generate pick lists and supply disbursement information into the Materials Management Information System
Monitors and expedites telephone and computer orders/questions in a courteous and professional manner
Maintains adequate level of stock supplies
Orders emergency supplies/equipment as needed
Responds to patients, families, visitors and staff in a sensitive, caring manner
Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with the Manager, Central/Sterile.
Reports any unsafe conditions or faulty equipment to the Manager, Central/Sterile immediately and notifies other staff
Demonstrates appropriate telephone etiquette
Follows verbal and written instructions accurately and in a timely manner
