Here at Collins Aerospace on our Traffic Surveillance team we create the software and systems design used as a integral piece of a cohesive system to provide critical situational awareness and alerting to our pilots.
This position is for a highly motivated team leader of 12+ Software Engineers whose charter is to decompose system requirements, develop, test, and deploy critical, integrated software solutions for our customer. This team develops and maintains several Avionics applications that allow our customer to Aviate, Navigate and Effectively Communicate.
What YOU will do:
YOU will direct the utilization of Software Engineering fundamentals, project management, and software development/test concepts for Traffic Collision and Avoidance System applications.
YOU will guide team members on the creation of Software Engineering plans, execution baselines, program execution and staffing plans, and technical risk assessments in support of customer expectations and business objectives.
YOU will perform hiring decisions, performance assessment, and personnel management for a team of technical staff members.
YOU will guide team members on the management of scope, schedule and budget for systems engineering activities; You must be familiar with using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) performance measurement; candidate must be able to assign and coordinate staffing.
YOU will provide guidance and review bid and proposal activities for Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and pursuits.
YOU will lead the engineering team using strong interaction, interpersonal, mentoring and negotiating skills, and will be responsible for managing project risks/issues and elevating to upper management when appropriate. In addition, you will be responsible for adhering to, and supporting Collins Aerospace process methodologies while managing commitments to meet project financial and schedule deliverables and quality requirements.

Qualifications you must have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Previous experience as an engineering leader, lead software/systems engineer, project lead, or IPT lead.
