Senior Software Engineer - Data Analytics & Testing

ADP is hiring a Senior Software Engineer of Data Analytics and Testing.

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting Data Analytics, creating KPIs, designing business solution workflows, and creating and executing associated test cases for various internal and external client facing applications and solutions. The role may be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and will work with clients, product managers, analysts, architects, and engineers to plan, design, develop, test, and implement solutions consistent with the business objective.

No two days are the same. You will work alongside a team of passionate, creative developers to design and develop analytical models, conduct data mining, and develop KPIs.  You will also be involved in data testing, manual and automated, to support deployment of new data projects and ETL.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day in the life of a Senior Software EngineerData Analytics and Testing at ADP.

• Data Analytics
  • Design and develop analytical data models and KPIs to support static and ad-hoc reports, analytics and research, dashboards, data mining, trending, creation of key performance indicators, predictive modeling, etc.
  • Deliver BI/Data content via portals, data visualization (Tableau/Power BI) etc.
  • Design regression analytics and data trending charts using complex datasets.
  • Research and determine links between disparate data sets.
  • Develop complex queries against Mainframe, Oracle, DB2 etc.
• Data Testing
  • Design and develop data extractions and transformations using ETL tools in order to complete data research and testing.
  • Conduct data testing using both manual and automated tests.
  • Develop independent process and control test scripts and procedures.
  • Document testing phases and defects and report bugs and errors to appropriate teams.
  • Provide feedback and support to developers to solve findings (help troubleshoot issues).
  • Collaborate with business team to design, develop, test and refine deliverables.

 A college degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Math is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills and experience to do the job. To be successful in this role, you'll have 5-7 years of experience in the same or similar role driving complex Data Analytics and conducting testing using SQL, Python, SAS etc.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: 

• Bachelor's Degree or its equivalent in education and experience with a major area of concentration in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Math. Isn't required but could set you apart.
• 5 - 7 years of directly related experience in working with complex Data Analytics and testing scenarios.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with SQL, Python, SAS etc.
• Knowledge of advanced scripts/procedures/statements using DML and DDL (SQL statements) against databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, etc.
• Other skills: AWS, Databricks, Snowflake

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions.

California Compensation Range for this role is $60,500 - $162,000  Year
