Role Overview: 

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute significantly to our growth by focusing on improving developer practices, enhancing production code quality, and optimizing deployment strategies. As a valuable member of the IQXR team, you will apply cutting-edge development methodologies and support a culture of technical excellence. Your contributions will be crucial in delivering high-quality software solutions and in collaborating with a counterpart focused on architecture and scalability, laying the groundwork for IQXR's future projects. 

What you’ll be doing: 

• Technical Contribution & Collaboration: Play a key role in breaking down high-level project goals into actionable tasks, ensuring our platforms and technologies stay at the forefront of the industry. 
• Collaboration: Work alongside diverse teams, Senior and Principal Engineers, and Industry Partners to develop and implement critical platform components. 
• Innovation & Prototyping: Transition code and techniques from research and prototyping into scalable, enterprise-grade production solutions. 
• Standards & Practices: Contribute to the evolution of system design and architecture in collaboration with Senior and Principal Engineers. 
• Emerging Technologies: Engage with the latest developments in applied machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI/ML) as part of designing and building enterprise-grade solutions. 
• Sustainability & Social Responsibility: Help integrate sustainability principles into the decision-making process and promote a culture that values diversity, equity, inclusion, and social responsibility, in alignment with the company's mission. 

Who you are:  

Required: 

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in the software development industry 
• At least 3 years of experience with compiled programming languages such as C#, C/C++, Java, or equivalent 
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in developing with scripted or functional programming languages, including JavaScript, Python, or equivalent 
• At least 2 years of experience in software development best practices, including Agile methodologies, continuous integration (CI), continuous deployment (CD), and test-driven development (TDD) 
• Experience contributing significantly to the deployment of production solutions or as a major contributor to a widely-used open-source project 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Demonstrated contribution to the development and deployment of production solutions using open-source distributed database solutions 
• Demonstrated contribution to deploying production solutions utilizing open-source data pipeline tools or MLOps tooling, such as Kubeflow, MLFlow, or Metaflow 
• Experience with deploying production solutions that utilized infrastructure-as-code to manage cloud-based infrastructure
