Job Duties
You’ll work as part of our small consulting team to deliver customized, thoughtfully crafted and data-driven SEO services, with primary responsibilities including client communications, strategy development, and project planning. This is a fully remote position.
This role involves a combination of big-picture thinking and highly detailed work. After an initial training period you’ll work both independently and in close collaboration with your colleagues.
Your responsibilities will include:
Support Client Needs: You'll work under the direction of an account lead to help address the needs of our clients, supporting conference calls and other client communications, and assisting with reports and other deliveries. You'll work closely with an account lead with an eventual goal of taking on more client-facing responsibilities. Client communications will take place by email, phone, and videoconference.
Develop SEO recommendations: Your top priority will be to provide SEO guidance that is a good use of our clients’ resources, and actually delivers value. You’ll create recommendations that are clear, thoughtful, defensible, and practical. A significant portion of this work will be developed in collaboration with your colleagues at Gravity.
Project coordination: You’ll help coordinate long-term SEO consulting projects, help define and document timelines and deliverables, and ensure timely delivery of work. Gravity uses a combination of tools, including Slack, Google Workspace, and Teamwork software for project management, collaboration, and documentation.
Written communications: You’ll use your strong writing skills to create effective communications and SEO recommendations that are tailored to the needs of the recipient. You’ll translate tech speak for non-technical marketers. You’ll write easy-to-scan emails for busy clients. You’ll summarize search trends and performance data in a few concise sentences. You’ll create clear and prioritized step-by-step instructions for implementers to follow.
Reporting and data analysis: You’ll review traffic performance data to help identify trends and opportunities, use keyword data to generate target keyword lists, and help design custom reports that clients find scannable and useful.
Process improvements: For our small team, small process improvements can make a big difference. Using your organizational skills and your experience with a range of tools and teams, you’ll constantly seek and implement ways to reduce cycles and improve workflows.
Stay current on SEO: You’ll maintain a learning mindset and dedicate a portion of your time on the job to staying current on SEO news and industry developments via trustworthy sources. Everyone has some knowledge gaps; you’ll always be transparent about what you don’t know, and you’ll never claim expertise you don’t have. You’ll be able to spot and steer clear of outdated best practices and unhelpful generic SEO rules, and you'll be confident in your ability to provide Gravity's clients with SEO advice that is practical and adds value.
