Sword Bio is a boutique CRO that focuses on having the necessary skills, consultation, and resources to aid clients in their Biotherapeutic development. We are experts in method development, validation, and sample testing for PK, Immunogenicity, and Biomarkers.

Our goal is to provide our clients with extensive scientific knowledge and premium service. Our mission is to help our clients get their drugs to market with speed and quality data.

We are seeking a highly motivated, senior-level scientist to develop and run our molecular and cell-based assay services in Boston. The candidate must effectively communicate (verbally and written) internally to project teams and externally to clients on developing and conducting assays supporting ongoing molecular and cell therapy studies.

The successful candidate will have expertise in a broad technical background that includes cell and gene therapy, bioanalysis of DNA/RNA, drug discovery, oncology, cell biology, and virology. They must have experience with qPCR, ddPCR, or dPCR, and cell culture experience for cell-based Nab assays. The Scientist will act as a PI, responsible for timelines, developing and executing experiments, analyzing data, and presenting findings. The position is a full-time, lab-based position.

Responsibilities:

· Design and execute experiments using qPCR, ddPCR, or dPCR, and cell culture techniques.

· Design and execute Cell culture experiments for Nab cell-based assays.

· Analyze experimental data and present findings to team members.

· Responsible for leading research projects and working collaboratively with other team members to ensure that research objectives are met.

· Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper functioning.

· Order and manage laboratory supplies.

· Participate in the development of novel assays and technologies.

· Document experimental protocols, data, and results in a clear and organized manner

· Communicate data results to the client on time and write reports for the client in an organized fashion.

· Follow all SOPs.

· Develops and validates robust analytical methods according to applicable SOPs and GLP practices.

· Oversee and independently perform cell-based Nab assay development, validation, and sample analysis.

· Independently design, execute, and interpret experiment results while displaying appropriate scientific discretion.

· Interact with management and clients in planning new projects and test procedures.

· Participate in client visits and audits as needed.

· Attending and presenting at scientific conferences.

· Other duties as assigned by Executive Management

· Evaluate laboratory practices, training, and relevant SOPs and recommend changes that improve the quality and scientific rigor.

· Record documentation per appropriate format (e.g., controlled form, notebook, logbook).

· Present and discuss experimental results with cross-functional project teams, clients, or externally at scientific conferences.

Qualifications:

· Ph.D. or Masters in a life science field (e.g., biology, biochemistry, molecular biology)

· Minimum of 4 -5 years of laboratory experience using qPCR, ddPCR or dPCR

· Minimum of 4-5 years of Cell culture experience with Nab cell-based assays.

· Hands-on supervisory experience in immunoassay development, validation, and sample analysis.

· Time spent in a CRO lab environment is a plus.

· Strong organizational and communication skills

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

· Attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot experiments.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory software programs

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders.

· Extended periods of standing or sitting.

· Ability to work in small spaces.

· In-person work required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
