Senior Scientist, T Cell Redirection Platform And Biology

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting a Senior Scientist in the T-Cell Redirection Platform and Biology group within Biologics Discovery. The position is located in Spring House, PA.
The T-cell Redirection Platform and Biology group focuses on two areas around biologics discovery as it relates to Immunobiology. The early phase concentrates on identifying, developing, optimizing and implementing novel immune cell functional assays using innovative techniques to screen for potential biologic therapies. In the later phase, the group is responsible for applying MOA specific functional studies for aiding in differentiating and profiling leads by exploring variations on existing or novel assays to enable NME and IND progression.
In this position within this group, you will join a group of researchers to conduct in vitro assay development and profiling to support the discovery and development of biologic therapeutics with a focus on immune mediated modalities. The Senior Scientist is expected to also provide expertise and advise on Immunobiology, T-cell biology for CD3 redirection and other immune-based modalities, as well as on implementation of Cell Redirection technologies and platforms for portfolio programs. Additionally, this role also provides the opportunity to lead project teams with clear line of sight and to interact seamlessly with elite Therapeutic Area scientists.
Key Skills and Qualities:

• Extensive knowledge of immunology concepts and discovery, including in vitro and in vivo models of immune response mechanisms in immuno-oncology and autoimmune disease
• Experience in in vitro immune cell functional characterization, such as multi-color flow immunophenotyping, cytotoxicity assays, multiplex cytokine assays and other molecular based assays
• Highly dedicated and driven individual with a collaborative mindset to help advance new therapies to patients

Key Responsibilities:
The position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in the discovery of novel biotherapeutics for unmet medical needs. The role can involve:

• Acting as a functional member or team leader of project teams to advance discovery portfolio projects
• Independently presenting/defending scientific findings in multi-functional project teams/initiatives
• Independently designing, analyzing and interpreting experimental results and drafts patent applications, manuscripts, protocols, SOPs, technical reports, etc.
• Championing technology development efforts aimed at fulfilling strategic long-term multi-specific antibody development and validate technology for "portfolio readiness"
• Leading Ph.D. and non-Ph.D. scientific staff

Qualifications

• Ph. D. degree in life sciences (molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or a related field) with 3+ years post-doctoral experience OR Master's Degree in life sciences with 7+ years proven experience is required.
• A Strong background in Immunology or a related subject area is required
• Experience in cell-based functional assays is required
• Experience in multi-color flow cytometry is required
• Proven experience in effectively prioritizing assignments for multiple projects simultaneously is required.
• Experience in therapeutic antibody discovery and lead candidate selection is preferred
• Strong written and oral presentation skills are required
