Description
Hybrid: Position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time- but the general expectation is that the employee be on-site an average of three (3) days each week.
The Role
The Senior Robotics Process Engineer is responsible for supporting automation projects and execution teams across all shops and plants with robotic technical issues resolution, providing technical direction, creating and maintaining automation common processes and procedures and driving continuous improvement. Work will involve development, testing and piloting of advanced process technology.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
Provide Robotics technical support to projects
Provide on-site and remote technical support including: new equipment startup, troubleshooting, reprogramming, diagnostic equipment usage, and interfacing with skilled trades personnel.
Respond to systemic issues affecting current systems
Provide feedback to the global robotic standards team and drive continuous improvement to standards
Collaborate with the Global standards team on new Developments
Lead Development and validation for new applications
Develop and support advanced Robotic technology solutions (Cutting, Joining, Handling, Laser, Vision)
Provide support for Safety Systems / Standards / Solutions including use of DCS
Drive common execution across all projects/programs (Lead robotics users group, participate in the tech summit roll-outs, global robotic council, facilitate the sharing of lessons learned and maintain standardized work).
Create/maintain execution processes and procedures
Provide mentoring and coaching for students and new hires
Support the technical development of our suppliers
Perform layered Audits on projects at key milestone dates to ensure compliance to standards (Robotic Use & Applications/Simulations/EOAT Design etc.) Notify leadership and provide alternates for non-compliant solutions
Additional Description
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
5+ years of experience in Robotics (Path Teach, Configuration, TP Programming)
Bachelor’s Degree with major in engineering or equivalent experience/training.
Technical knowledge and ability in Automation processing
Strong technical knowledge in Application technologies (Vision, Dispense, Welding etc.)
Prior experience working with Fanuc robots
Knowledge of applicable Robotic / Automation safety standards
Ability to trouble shoot robot related issues
Ability to provide technical direction to others
Proven ability in project management skills and ability to teach others
What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience with other Robot Manufactures
2-3 years pf plant experience
10+ years experience in the robotics field
Demonstrates maintenance of technical competency in relevant field
Demonstrated understanding of plant floor and product design manufacturability
Global Exposure working with others from other regions to complete projects
Demonstrated understanding of plant floor and product design manufacturability
This position is not eligible for ISP, ITAP or localization.
