Senior Research Engineer

Interactive Aptitude LLC is looking to fill a Senior Research Engineer role for researching and developing AI-leveraged Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO) solutions.

Interactive Aptitude LLC ( https://intaptai.com/ ) specializes in mission planning and autonomy for Defense, Aerospace, and Search/Rescue industries. Established in 2017 and headquartered in San Diego, CA, Interactive Aptitude LLC is dedicated to innovation by developing groundbreaking technologies and delivering dependable products to meet the needs of our government and industry clients. Uniquely, Interactive Aptitude LLC actively spends significant R&D for employees to explore “pre-seed” level ideas/prototypes, as well as encouraging spin-off companies, to meet additional high-priority needs such as climate change mitigation/adaptation.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop AI concepts to optimize Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (including intelligent/resilient comms, sensing, jamming, and spoofing). This will include: customer requirements verification, software architecture design, big-data processing, and Electronic Warfare software development via friendly/adversary force simulations (in DIADS, AFSIM, and/or custom simulators)
• Lead execution of advanced technology R&D programs in Principal Investigator roles
• Develop competitive proposals and follow-on programs for R&D customers, including DARPA, ONR, AFRL, ARL, NASA, and other government agencies and industry primes
• Support company marketing and business development via technical briefings, publications, conferences, and professional outreach activities

Requirements

• US Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret SCI clearance
• Willingness to work in the office roughly 60% of the time (for secure room work in Warner Robins, GA), and travel up to roughly 5% of the time (to visit other DoD customers), with the remaining time working remotely if desired
• Bachelors, Masters, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and Java
• Demonstrated successes developing solutions for EW, Unmanned Systems, Autonomy, or Robotics
• Demonstrated ability to interact independently with R&D customers as PI or SME
• Demonstrated small team leadership and interpersonal skills, with excellent presentation and communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to innovate

Pay: $130,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
