Senior Research Associate - Protein Analysis Mass Spectrometry

Corteva Agriscience is looking for a responsible and highly motivated Senior Research Associate to join the Protein Analysis Mass Spectrometry Team! Protein Analysis Mass Spectrometry in Protein Core Technologies is focused on utilizing Mass Spectrometry for high throughput target protein quantifications in transgenic plants. This person may: perform advanced operation of LC-MS/MS instruments and other laboratory equipment; perform validation of new acquisition methods for LC-MS/MS; perform high throughput sample extraction and protein digestion; research and implement process improvements; and complete high throughput sample and data analyses with a focus on providing cost effect, quality results to our clients.

Responsibilities - What you will do:

• Perform advanced operation, routine maintenance and troubleshooting for LC-MS/MS instruments and other laboratory equipment
• Develop and validate assays for targeted protein quantitation by LC-MS/MS
• Analyze LC-MS/MS data using associated software
• Perform sample analyses including high throughput sample extraction and protein digestions
• Design, perform, and evaluate process improvement experiments
• Assist with routine client communication
• Promote a safe and respectful working environment

Requirements - Who you are:

• Degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or related field plus corresponding minimum years of experience
• Bachelor's degree, minimum 5 years of experience
• Master's degree, minimum 2 years of experience
• Hands-on experience in operation of a mass spectrometer instrument
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented and attention to detail
• Strong writing, speaking, organizational and computer skills are needed

The following are preferred:

• Hands-on experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of a mass spectrometer instrument
• Familiarity with LC-MS/MS data analysis, automation, and Skyline software
• Working experience with Protein Analysis/quantitation
