SUMMARY

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

• Generate FEA/analytical models of mechanical parts and assemblies
• Identify when different FEA simulations contribute for all stages bicycle product development
• Coordinate material characterization and testing plans to support modeling efforts
• Identify ways to improve precision with all simulations across products and offices
• Lead physical testing to validate models and improve the accuracy of simulation results
• Brainstorm and propose solutions to problems found through analysis in product development in digital models and physical test results
• Document design decisions and how they impact structural performance
• Contribute to automation of FE models where it allows to improve accuracy and efficiency
• Reconcile physical testing with digital testing for robust product requirements
• Review and approve designs prior to hard tooling based on structural requirements

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or similar
• 8-10 years of product design engineering experience
• Experience with CAD software (PTC Creo preferred)
• 5 years structural FEA experience
• Sensible feeling for a bike and its ride behavior.
• Proven finite element modeling track record with detailed simulation experience of isotropic and anisotropic materials
• Knowledge of isotropic and anisotropic material failure and experience identifying failure mechanisms
• Strong understanding of constraints, interfaces, and boundary conditions
• Strong technical communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• JIRA & Confluence knowledge a plus
• Scripting experience (python, MATLAB, or similar) a plus

PAY
Below is a summary of compensation elements for this role at the company if based in the following locations:
California Base Pay Range: $85,971 - $141,852
