Job Description
Job Responsibilities:
  • Contributes as core member of the global Quality Center of Operational Excellence, driving and supporting QA process improvements across the network.
  • Leads DMAIC projects and facilitate workshops throughout the continuous improvement lifecycle, from ideation to change sustainment.
  • Facilitates process mapping sessions through collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Trains classes developed by the Quality Engineering team (e.g. LSS Yellow Belt, Process Mapping, Acceptance Sampling, SPC).
  • Provides mentorship to candidates pursing their Lean Six Sigma certifications.
  • Supports Quality Metrics Programs across the organization to develop KPIs for monitoring Quality System health and drive improvements.
  • Analyzes data to provide key insights and support decision making.
  • Monitors overall Quality Engineering project portfolio to review improvement ideas, track progress, and communicate project outcomes.
  • Guides junior QA staff, fostering a culture of quality excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Stays current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in quality assurance/operational excellence to proactively apply knowledge to enhance QA processes

Knowledge and Skills:
  • Demonstrates knowledge in Quality Engineering principles (ASQ Body of Knowledge), concepts, industry practices, and standards.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent written & oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrates knowledge in Lean Six Sigma, Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) methodology, performance measures, and quality improvement.
  • Certification by ASQ (Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Certified Quality Engineer) or other industry-recognized professional organizations.

Typical Education and Experience:
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical industry and a BS or BA in engineering or a science related degree.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience and a MS.

The salary range for this position is: $133,280.00 - $172,480.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
