HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE TO RHINO:

As a Senior Quality Assurance Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and quality of our products. Responsibilities include conducting laboratory testing, overseeing our environmental monitoring program, and guiding other QA Technicians and Production personnel. Your expertise in processing and quality standards will be key as you review production documents, conduct observational reviews, and lead investigations to maintain our commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

  • Reinforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and quality standards through training and mentorship.
  • Conduct daily walkthroughs to observe adherence to process controls and allergen prevention measures.
  • Lead investigations into non-conforming incidents and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address issues.
  • Manage product hold status for non-conforming inventory and review expired stock reports for disposition.
  • Support R&D team with production trials for new products and equipment.
  • Lead problem-solving teams and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in supplier audits as it pertains to supplier quality management and new supplier approval.
  • Perform lab tasks such as microplating, environmental swabbing, and allergen testing.
  • Perform record reviews such as supplier documentation, production run records, and inventory reports.
  • Support QA Department Programs such as Internal Audits, Sensory Evaluation, Traceability verifications, Environmental Monitoring, Allergen Control, Training, and GMPs.
  • This role can support three shifts so requires a flexible and variable schedule on occasion. To meet the needs of the department, there will be occasions where shift coverage will be needed during hours outside of the employee’s assigned shift.
Requirements:

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING:

  • A bachelor’s degree in food sciences, biology or other related field, or at least 7 years of experience in food manufacturing and quality.
  • Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) and American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Process Analyst or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting findings and reports.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and problem-solving techniques.
  • Thorough understanding of FDA and BRC regulations.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and quality audit processes.
