Job Title
Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
As the Senior Quality Assurance Engineer, you will be responsible for all aspects of the design, development, and implementation of quality systems and processes design, creation/management of documentation/support drawings through the application of professionally accepted quality engineering principles and techniques. You will be an individual contributor who is recognized as a technical expert.
Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide significant and positive business impact to CoorsTek by introducing new ideas and solutions to further company's profitability through expansion of the company's Operational Excellence quality portfolio.
• Advise teams and factories as a subject matter expert for resolving process upsets and driving new process implementation.
• Independently represent CoorsTek with customers on technical matters and CoorsTek product offerings.
• Provide expert technical evaluation of external quality technologies, including advice to Senior Management with regard to development of quality engineering, business processes, quality business systems and / or key customer quality relationships.
• Advise management in the creation of quality roadmaps to capture new business opportunities as well as develop long term global strategy.
• Identify and execute exploratory projects to develop innovative solutions for the company.
• Apply accepted quality engineering principles, complete assigned tasks efficiently under minimal supervision; confer with other technical personnel on complex matters, specific assignment objectives, points of emphasis, reference and information sources, and possible solutions as needed.
• Interpret customer and company technical drawings for sales and manufacturing departments to ensure products are manufactured in accordance with quality specifications; suggests modifications to improve the manufacturing process.
• Develop and maintains complete and accurate written records (i.e. First Article Reports and process documentation), for new products and/or processes.
• Coordinate projects and quality engineering efforts across multiple product categories, processes or sites as needed.
• Interact with customers and suppliers to clarify points, research material and
• investigate improvements to current and future processes.
• Function in conjunction with sales personnel, interacting directly with customers in the development of new products and to communicate capabilities while providing solutions in response to customer Corrective Action Requests.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate detailed phases of quality engineering work as a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Work on assignments that routinely include QMS design and development, Structured Problem Solving, preparation of specifications, process study, research investigations, report preparation and other activities requiring knowledge of accepted engineering principles, practices, and techniques.
• Provide training/cross-training in Structured Problem Solving, SPC, PCS, equipment, software and process operations.
• Supervise lower-level engineers or technicians via matrix as a direct supervisor or in a defined project environment.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science
• OR Engineering with 10 years relevant experience or Master's degree in Engineering or business or related Physical Science with 7 years relevant experience.
• OR PhD in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering with 5 years relevant experience.
• Quality Engineering (ASQ certification) preferred.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong understanding of manufacturing/quality techniques and possesses thorough knowledge of mechanical inspection techniques.
• Possesses skills with Quality Management systems, and project management.
• Proficiency in technical drawing interpretation.
• Proficiency in specific job-related software and understanding of computer programs, applications and databases.
• Ability to perform detail-oriented tasks utilizing excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as intermediate math and computer skills. Excellent listening skills necessary.
• Works effectively with a diverse group of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
