Job description

Job Purpose

Responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of all quality activities related to New Business Development projects in addition to continuous improvement projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage all new launch projects with NBD Group
  • Coordinate QA activities with the Quality Managers in multiple plants
  • Identify, fabricate/develop, and implement test equipment and test procedures as needed in multiple plants
  • Provide training support to QA and Production on how to use new equipment
  • Develop and implement appropriate quality plans during development and provide support to the plant QA staff with writing QCP’s
  • Conduct Gage R&R studies and T Tests with like equipment in both plants as needed
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements needed in both plants
  • Provide necessary assistance to the production site to ensure the first smooth production of new products
  • Provide qualified samples in time, actively shorten the processing time to reduce the development cycle
  • Can propose a foolproof plan for potential problems
  • Can perform process failure mode analysis
  • Strict implementation of quality standards, continuous improvement of staff quality awareness and reduction of factors affecting product quality, to ensure that the products produced meet the requirements of quality standards
  • Strictly help to control the production cost of the department during new product development and at the same time, rationally and effectively improve the process and process of the team, maximize production utilization, and achieve the goal of increasing revenue or reducing costs
  • Conscientiously implement the requirements of 5S, and through the 5S management tool, to improve the environment and improve the quality and efficiency of work
  • Be familiar with raw materials
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Manage the project timelines for all QA related tasks
  • Provide direction and support to Project Management Team
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the proper execution of projects
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Perform other related duties as required

Working Conditions

  • This job requires work in an office and manufacturing environments and interact with multiple departments with the company and customers
  • Job could require travel up to 25% of the time to support projects
  • Hair nets and hearing protection are required while working in production areas

Physical Requirements

  • This job requires the ability to occasionally lift parts and supplies up to 50lbs

Qualifications

  • AS or BS in a technical field preferred or equivalent technical work experience
  • 4 years experience in developing quality systems and test equipment, preferably in the consumer packaging manufacturing space
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • SolidWorks CAD a plus but not required.
  • 2 years direct work experience in a project management capacity
  • Exposure to injection, blow mold, decoration, metalizing a plus
  • Proven experience in people management and or facilitating activities of others
  • Proficient at managing team members remotely
  • Proven experience in risk management
  • Demands accountability and responsibility for self and instills same in direct reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills a must
  • Good at negotiation where there is a skillful compromise to work with others to accept the complete plan and finally reach an agreement
