Senior Quality Assurance Analyst - Remote

As a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst at ICFNext, you will apply your analytical and critical thinking skills to help solve client challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong manual and/or automated testing skills in Angular/Java development environment, the ability to properly prioritize, own and drive the work, and work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams in an Agile environment.
The Work
ICF is supporting NIH with modernization of their legacy applications, which are built in Angular and Kotlin, to align with the agency's strategic goals. The IT modernization team consists of delivery support, front and back-end developers, UX/UI designers, content strategists, SMEs, business analysts, testers, and infrastructure and security professionals. The team works in 2-week sprints to develop new features and release them on the modernized Beta site.
Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and design comprehensive test plans.
• Develop detailed test cases based, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional requirements and write test scripts using Gherkin syntax.
• Execute test cases to identify defects and ensure compliance with functional requirements. Track defects with clear steps to reproduce.
• Perform various types of testing including automated, functional, and regression testing on web applications.
• Clearly identify, document, and prioritize defects, providing detailed information to developers and the team for resolution. Work with developers to perform root-cause analysis and to ensure the timely resolution of defects.
• Generate and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test summary reports.
• Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on testing progress, results, and potential risks.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospective meetings.
• Participate in sprint planning and work with the project team to identify risks/impacts in the system to be tested.
• Use Jira and Confluence for documentation.
• Suggest areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.
• Work with the scrum team to analyze user stories and write test scripts using Gherkin syntax.
• Advise on and advocate for rigorous QA processes and documentation on projects and within the organization. Supervise and mentor junior QA staff and business analysts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 4 or more years of experience in:
  • Manual testing including front-end, regression, and performance testing on web-based applications
  • Writing test plans, test cases and test summary reports

Preferred Skills:

• 5 or more years of experience in various types of manual and automated testing, including front-end, regression, and performance testing on web-based applications
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and time management skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, multi workstream project team.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Experience working with Angular and Java-based websites.
• Experience working with Selenium, Cypress, Postman, Java, JMeter.
• Basic understanding of SQL for database testing.
• Knowledge of version control systems (i.e. Git).
• Certification in software testing is a plus.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. The pay range for this position is:
$68,325.00 - $116,152.00
