JOB SUMMARY:

Perform inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work. Utilize applicable procedures, codes and standards to evaluate test and inspection reports, recommending acceptance or rejection. May technically direct, instruct, and train specialists in assigned discipline. Position requires advanced technical training and direct experience. May participate as a member of audit team. Implement, manage, and instruct others in the QA/QC plan and procedures for one medium or several small construction/maintenance projects. Incumbent should be fully experienced and competent individual capable of solving especially difficult problems. Some positions require certification and/or licensure.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

· Establish and maintain project QA/QC (through training, awareness, planning). Assume total responsibility for QA/QC operation when assigned to shift work.

· Lead or participate in Project QA/QC Kick-off Meeting.

· Attend and participate in Project Field Execution Meetings.

· Lead or participate in Project Weekly QA/QC Meetings.

· Monitor and assist subcontractors in the development and administration of their QA/QC Program.

· Conduct QA/QC pre-planning activities.

· Oversee, direct and mentor QA/QA Specialists under direct supervision.

· Report project QA/QC status to Project Team, Client, and Corporate QA/QC Department.

· Electrical and Instrumentation tests and / or instruct employees in proper use of procedures, materials, tools, etc.

· Determine and ensure correct procedures are in use per engineering specs as well as Company and owner requirements.

· Interact with Company, Client and Subcontractor representatives as needed to ensure compliance with specifications and address any questions or concerns.

· Analyze and interpret blueprints, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures.

· Monitor operations to ensure conformance to specifications and ensure necessary materials and equipment for QA/QC activities are available.

· Ensure all QA/QC activities are performed under the guidelines of all QA/QC procedures and guidelines.

· Maintain project specific QA/QC standards and inspection reports.

· Provide necessary outgoing correspondence and ensure compliance and/or correctness.

· Participate in meetings to resolve non-conformance areas. Follow-up to ensure corrections are implemented.

· Participate in internal/external audits to ensure QA/QC requirements are implemented and/or maintained.

· Coordinate QA/QC program with job site departments and contractors.

· Develop project QA/QC turnover packages.

· Lead completion of project red line drawings

· Perform receipt inspections of material for work area in conjunction with material control staff as, required.

· Perform system verification on completed systems to assure correct installation per design specifications.

· Control measuring and test equipment, as required to ensure accuracy and to track tool calibration expiration dates.

· Attend and participate in initial orientation and ongoing job specific QA/QC training including but not limited to; project specific processes, procedures, documents and company Quality Management System (QMS) and objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

A minimum of ten years electrical experience with a minimum of five years in a quality role encompassing field and shop environments. Electrical licensure and other electrical related training and certifications are strongly preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES:

· Knowledge of a vast array of electrical and instrumentation process, installations and functions and the testing procedures to ensure total function.

· Ability to interact professionally, including instruction, with multiple levels of employee as well as client, subcontractor and other representatives are required.

· Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to positively influence QA/QC behaviors.

· Excellent communication skills, both written and oral; capable of effectively presenting to audiences, large and small.

· Willingness and ability to adapt to rapidly changing environment and new challenges.

· Strong cultural sensitivity to manage relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.

· Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to strengthen the QA/QC culture.

· Proficiency with standard office software.

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and coordinate multiple activities that are moderately to highly complex.

· Willing and able to travel as required.

· Willing and able to gain additional training, certificate, education, and clearances.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments with possible exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, moving objects, sharp edges, and

all types of weather and temperature conditions. Occasional or frequent air travel with overnight stays.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

· Manual dexterity, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.

· Frequent climbing stairs / ladders, bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, reaching, and crouching.

· Occasional work on ladders, scaffolding, or high structures.

· Visual acuity to read printed and electronic documents.

· Hearing capacity to receive, perceive, and react to common construction environment auditory stimuli.

· Lifting and / or exerting of force up to 50 pounds occasionally, 20 pounds of lifting / force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of lifting / force constantly to move objects; and

· Frequent driving of motor vehicles.
