Job Description
We have a hybrid 1-year Senior Project Manager contract opportunity with possible extensions up to an additional 2 years. The anticipated start is early to mid-February 2024.
The Senior Project Manager may perform work remotely with client approval but will periodically be required to perform work on-site, at our clients' Sacramento offices in California. The Senior Project Manager must perform all work within the contiguous United States.
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager for PeopleSoft design, development, and implementation services to support functionality migration to a financial information system.
Project Tasks Summary
- Provide project management and governance support.
- Support the Product Owners and Product Managers by collaborating on progress of project management activities including schedule status and Agile activities for each EPIC (e.g. analysis, user story development, acceptance criteria, demonstrations, tracking the build, functional and user acceptance testing). Provide support for risk and issues management, and governance and decision-making processes. Assist with working through issues and minimizing schedule delays.
- Monitor and report on progress towards the project completion.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of seven years' experience within the last 15 years of broad, extensive experience applying Project Management (PM) principles, methods, techniques, and tools. A minimum of four years of this experience must have been as a senior PM and all experience must be on a large-scale project, where large-scale is defined as a system having at least 5,000 system users and a total project cost of at least $20 million (defined as the total system development cost including planning, design, development, and implementation). (Large-scale is defined in this RFO as $20 million one-time development costs or 5,000 system users.)
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or Engineering. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- A valid current Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate from the Project Management Institute (PMI). The PMP certification is required and may not be substituted with additional experience.
Desirable Qualifications
- Project Management Experience Exceeding Minimum Qualifications: Additional points will be awarded to the staff if the total number of qualifying lead years of experience exceeds seven years and was gained within the past 15 years.
- Experience as a Project Manager on a large-scale public sector project. Additional points will be awarded to the staff for each qualifying year of experience up to 10 years. (Large-scale is defined in this RFO as $20 million one-time development costs or 5,000 system users.)
