The Collins Aerospace Avionics Test Engineering organization is looking for a motivated individual to enhance our team as a Senior Project Engineer, executing bidding and estimation activities across the organization.
The Avionics Test Engineering organization is a global engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the manufacturing test solutions in support of the $5B Avionics strategic business unit, as well as external customers including armed services and airlines both domestic and international. As a key member of the Avionics Test Engineering leadership team, the Bidding Focal will ensure the successful estimation of test solution projects from scope definition and validation, Basis of Estimation determination, presentation creation and formal review cycle with leadership / end customers.
Typical test solutions include Optical, In-circuit Test, Boundary Scan, as well as COTS components such as switch systems, oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies and other related equipment. Solutions are coupled with custom software for performing Environmental Stress Screening as well as testing circuit card assemblies and top-level products.
The ideal candidate will have an unwavering positive attitude, be highly responsive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, and strive to perform high-quality work proactively and efficiently. This person will consistently demonstrate professionalism in their interactions with all levels of the organization and will routinely go above and beyond expectations in performing their work. The role requires working closely with engineers and leaders, at various locations around the globe, to ensure project success. Organizationally, the role reports to a Project Engineering Manager in the Avionics Test Engineering organization.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple bidding and estimation requests for various customers.
- Coordinate with resource managers to support bids (engineering judgment).
- Manage assigned resources through clear expectation setting and cadencing.
- Utilize internal and third-party bidding tools.
- Generate estimated project schedules with understood dependencies, deliveries, and critical path.
- Create presentations and communicate bid scope, requirements, assumptions, risks and opportunities to leadership.
- Provide feedback to leadership on bidding process for continuous improvement effort.
Qualifications/Experience Needed:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have an engineering degree and minimum 3 years of technical experience.
- The ideal candidate will have prior project leadership of multidiscipline engineering teams and managing customer relationships.
- Strong leadership traits and practices.
- Sound technical knowledge in at least one of the following engineering disciplines: systems, mechanical, electrical, or software.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
- Outstanding oral, written, and formal presentation skills.
- Sharp critical thinking approaches.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively execute multiple responsibilities.
