Metal Service Centers hold a pivotal position in the metal supply chain, processing and distributing half of the 88M tons of steel produced in the US annually. Essential industries depend on MSCs for everything from aircraft and skyscrapers to automobiles and medical devices. Despite their critical role, MSCs are held back by legacy software from the '70s and '80s, costing the industry over $10B in unrealized earnings each year.
Driven by their customer-centric philosophy, they are pioneering a modern ERP, purpose built to empower MSCs to boost revenue, slash costs, and save time. Our client's platform enables strategic inventory purchasing, streamlines manual tasks, improves the customer experience, ensures on-time deliveries, and accelerates sales growth.
In this role, you will be the first Product Manager on the team and work closely with the founders, design, and engineering to help ship new features and improve existing ones. You will lead in defining product priorities and report to the CEO.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from ideation, design, development, and launch
- Understand the market, competition, and champion our users to craft product strategies that will lead to long-term success
- Understand our client's strategic and competitive position and deliver products that are recognized as the best in the industry
- Partner closely with cross functional stakeholders, including but not limited to Design, Research, Engineering, Marketing and Analytics leaders to build and deliver world-class products
- Clearly communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments and decisions across the organization from partner teams to executives
- Define metrics and analyze test results to inform the success of products and features shipped
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in product management; ideally in a multi-user SaaS and start up environment; experience building collaborative products is a plus
- Demonstrated experience in leading the development of products and features from inception to launch
- A driven generalist, who is experienced and comfortable extending their influence beyond their own product team, leading cross-team and cross-functional effort across a company through influence
- Technical and design fluency; comfort discussing concepts with engineering and design counterparts
- Strong product instincts; the ability to deeply understand user problems and business opportunities and define a vision on how to solve them
- Passion for empowering small business owners to be successful; possess a high level of empathy our customers and a strong desire to deeply understand their needs
- A great communicator who has the ability to influence and build alignment both within a product team and with stakeholders across the company
- Strong ownership, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to make your product vision come to life
