As a Senior Product Analyst for Care Management under Optum Whole Health Solutions, you will be accountable for contributing to the product development and management of products, capabilities, and solutions to support the wellbeing and manage the care journey of our high needs members populations across UHC and Optum Commercial, Payer and Government businesses.

This position will be partnering with Product managers on key initiatives in the care management product portfolio focusing on care and disease management (CM/DM), NurseLine, reporting capabilities and project management.  The position will also promote operational efficiencies, automation of manual processes and develop new opportunities to enhance program outputs as the analytics expert.  You should have a good understanding of data analytics and reporting, project management, product utilization and product features offered within our portfolio. You will lead or partner with other product leaders on market intelligence, client reporting, leadership presentation and/or built out roadmaps for targeted markets.

This position reports directly to the Senior Product Manager within the Care Management business as part of the broader Optum Whole Health Solutions organization.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Manage meeting cadence, agenda, notes, and action items for CM/DM Product packages, as assigned. 
  • Establish review/audit schedule for various sales-support systems to ensure accuracy of solution and product componentry
  • Be the point person for UHC Clinical Program Review; collaborating and coordinating content development and deliverables with the product team
  • Assist Consultant Clinical Solutions partnership; support meetings and bi-annual clinical assessments, preparing agendas, tracking action items, coordinating prep meetings, content, participation, and onsite facilities when necessary.
  • NurseLine client reporting - manage client/regulator reporting and attend numerous quarterly client meetings
  • Act as a primary NurseLine resource for Community & State implementations
  • Sales Support and assistance in collecting content for client's responses for renewals and new business opportunities; including maintenance of sales support library for CM/DM products and solutions
  • Consult with internal partners to drive process development, management, and continuous improvement efforts in support of care management programs and ensure capabilities meet established short and long-range goals
  • Contribute to our product culture which embraces change, transformation, and new business opportunities and continuous improvement

Years of post-high school education can be substituted/is equivalent to years of experience.


Required Qualifications: 

  • 2 years of experience with executing and implementing initiatives related to advocacy, clinical/care management, or capability development in a fast paced, quality-focused environment
  • 2 years of experience with documenting processes, understanding workflow and requirement gathering, working with large data sets, driving problem solving and making data driven decisions
  • 1 years of experience working with business stakeholders in a highly matrix environment - can both work independently and in a team environment in a positive and supportive manner
  • Ability to thrive with ambiguity and be energized by taking on multiple product initiatives
  • Ability to lead by example in modeling desired behaviors, including personal integrity, diversity and inclusion, customer focus, business acumen, teamwork, and accountability 
  • Excellent presentation, time management, organizational, prioritization and communication skills 
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Teams 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Health care industry, Consulting and/or UnitedHealthCare experience
  • Experience in care management programs, have a clinical background or transferrable expertise
  • Project management or Agile experience
  • Experience managing capital requests and associated inputs (cost-benefits analysis, business case, etc.)
  • Self-starter with the ability to leverage critical thinking skills and to prioritize one's work

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington residents is $67,800 to $133,100 per year. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
