Job Summary
The Senior Process Engineering Manager will drive continuous improvement in aseptic beverage manufacturing. Areas of focus will include improving and optimizing blending, processing, and packaging to achieve best-in-class food safety and operational efficiency plant-wide. This role will also partner with the leadership team to evaluate and make recommendations related to internal capital projects, new business opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- In this role, the person will recommend, lead, and drive continuous improvement in the areas of blending, processing, and packaging of low-acid aseptic beverages.
- This position will ensure that manufacturing processes are optimized for maximum food safety, quality, plant efficiency, and yield.
- The person in this role will recommend and implement changes to batching and processing protocols, participate in optimizing formulas and ingredient choices, and maximize batching and processing operations.
- This person will evaluate and recommend improvements to CIP protocols/equipment, predictive and preventative maintenance programs, and general production processes to optimize overall plant performance.
- This position will manage the site Root Cause Analysis program to ensure an effective and structured approach to solving problems.
- The person will work closely and collaboratively with operators, technicians, and leadership in manufacturing, sanitation, quality, maintenance, and product development.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Beverage product commercialization and manufacturing
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and be a change agent.
- Ability to work with and interact with all levels of the organization.
- Strong ability to foster positive relationships with and between team members, plants, support functions, and functional groups.
- Self-starter with strong leadership skills and a high degree of integrity.
- Strong planning, organizing, and time management skills.
- Capable of learning, leading, and sponsoring a data-oriented environment with an emphasis on statistics, SPC, and data analysis.
- Continuous improvement competencies include Six Sigma methodology, 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Kaizen.
Education and/or Experience
- BS in Engineering, Food Science, or equivalent. Masters preferred.
- At least five years' experience in operation and product development in the food and beverage industry.
