Overview:
The Senior Privacy Manager must be a strong advocate of patient privacy, be highly visible and actively assist leaders and co-workers and improve privacy across the organization.
The Sr. Privacy Manager develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures of the organization's privacy programs in accordance with security laws. Ensures all business processes and data exchanges adhere to the policies and procedures. The Sr. Privacy Manager directs, delivers or ensures delivery of confidential and privacy training and provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. The Sr. Privacy Manager may give input into developing the budget.
The Sr. Privacy Manager functions as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) as it relates to privacy regulations, privacy program operations, investigation management, risk assessment and work plan development.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting
- Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Business Administration, Risk Management, or other healthcare-related field.
- Certifications: Willingness to obtain Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) through the Health Care Compliance Association within one year of employment.
- Other: Thorough knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH)
