Job Duties:
- Provide holistic oversight of software development and product architecture especially at the integration points.
- Partner with senior product and technology development management to build tactical and strategic roadmaps for technology.
- Be a catalyst for Application Architects, Software Engineers, QA, DevOps/SRE and all roles to evaluate and deliver engineering efforts across company.
- Facilitate discussions and resolve conflicts involving technical approaches, designs, and tradeoffs - especially drawing from lessons learned.
- Provide technical guidance to harmonize and ensure the consistency of all engineering efforts for products and solutions with an eye towards creating paved roads.
- Advocate and enforce best practices for performance, reliability, scalability, security, and reusability at a global scale.
- Evangelize successful approaches as well as lessons learned to increase the engineering organizations ability to learn and adapt to changing requirements.*Occupation will require only national travel. The travel requirement is less than 5% of the time. ** Remote work requests will be considered consistent with company's remote work policy.
Job Requirements:
- Position requires Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, or a related field, or foreign equivalent and 10 years of relevant software experience in Project Leader, Architect, or Manager/Software Architect.
- This position also requires: 5 years of experience in any three programming languages including: Typescript, JavaScript, C#, Java, Python and knowledge of platforms such as Node, .Net Core.
- 4 years of experience with Amazon Web Services technologies including Serverless/Lambdas, API gateway, Elasticsearch, SQS, Route 53, ECS, KMS/IAM and Code Pipeline.
- 3 years of experience working with Single Page Applications (SPA) such as Angular, React, ExtJS, Dojo, VueJS. Experience developing commercial quality software products and solutions particularly focused on distributed and real-time systems.
- Experience defining, refining, and maintaining application architectures for sophisticated end-user software products.
- Experience with variety of technology components and stacks such as Java with Angular, Java with React, C# with Angular. Experience in agile development practices including scrum and scaled agile.
- Experience with performance, reliability, scalability, security, and reusability tactics and strategies.
- Experience with other cloud platforms and SaaS architectures such as Azure, Pivotal Cloud Foundry.
- Experience with OLAP, OLTP, and Data Warehouse solutions and implementations specifically MS SQL, Amazon RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, etc.
- AWS Professional certification, either AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional.
