Position Summary: Senior Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and driven individual to join our team in the role of Senior Payroll Specialist. This role requires least 3 years’ proven experience processing end-to-end payroll for multiple EINs, in an enterprise level organization, with at least 500 or more employees. You must be an individual that has strong client relationship skills, is system driven, has meticulous attention to detail, and strives to deliver an excellent client experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing, preparing, and producing accurate and timely payrolls for multiple clients, in Enterprise level organizations, in multiple locations (states), based on state and federal regulations and company policies
  • Checking customers employees’ timesheets for accuracy
  • Make adjustments in pay for raises, bonuses, commission, and severance
  • Review and validate payroll reports for accuracy, investigating and resolving any discrepancies
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of all client files, payroll information, and employee PII
  • Analyze payroll results and other Human Resources reports to answer complex questions and recommend courses of action while exercising independent judgment and discretion
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries from client and their employees on timely basis.
  • Process employee garnishments
  • Coordinate payroll general ledger processing with accounting
  • Prepare time and labor files
  • Input employee changes, maintain deductions, banking information, and employee maintenance items
  • Provide service support to employees, other departments, and management

Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

  • At least 3 years’ proven experience processing end-to-end payroll for multiple EINs in an enterprise level organization, 500 or more employees
  • Prior experience working in a multi-client environment is required
  • Expert knowledge of Paylocity
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience processing certified payrolls, weekly compliance reporting, and knowledge of prevailing wage laws a plus
  • Expert knowledge of job costing, piece rate and creating complex custom reports is required
  • Complex analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
  • Self-starter who is willing to take initiative with little direction or guidance
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management abilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Educated on compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and requirements
  • Certified Payroll Professional certification a plus
  • Excellent math and numerical skills
  • Proficient in Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
