PURPOSE:
The Front Office Supervisor will oversee the operation of the Front Desk & Billing Staff including code capture, chart compliance, insurance denials, collections and providing financial assistance to patients. Ensures effective chart flow and code capture through timely processing of patient charts and related documentation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manages workflow of scheduling, check-in, and check-out processes to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
• Ensures telephones are answered in timely and courteous manner and patient needs are appropriately addressed by front office staff.
• Oversees staffing and orientation/training to ensure adequate coverage for all locations (to include lunch and breaks).
• Collaborates with Administrator in selecting, monitoring and evaluating front office staff.
• Monitors and Supports the entire Revenue Cycle from code capture through Billing & Collecting
• Provides monthly report to Practice Administrator/Physicians for communication to the physicians.
• Performs weekly feedback sessions with billing staff. Summarizes session information into a management report.
• Insures payment posting and charge entry meet the timeliness requirements as directed by Compliance.
• Monitors staff productivity and time management.
• Investigates customer complaints and ensures timely response where needed.
• Promotes teamwork through collaboration.
• Enforces and assures compliance with all Company policies.
• Maintains attendance according to scheduled days and hours and appropriate dress and appearance standards, according to company policy.
• Attends mandatory company training sessions as required by state/federal law where applicable.
• Schedules the nursing staff and monitors physicians schedules and covering physician schedules.
• Maintains all licensing throughout the centers to include physicians, business, lab, and all licensed employees.
• Acts as the Facility Safety Officer for all applicable centers.
• Processes all invoices through accounts payable and coordinates CBO functions for all centers.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A high attention to detail is required, as well as an ability to multi-task.
• 3+ years experience in a medical office environment required.
• Office management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as a strong sense of customer service.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Good telephone, computer, and typing skills; prefer candidate with Medical Manager
