Job Description:

Pay Range: $30.86hr - $35.86hr

• Assists attorneys in the Office to ensure the Department compliance with state and federal law and provide support as needed.
• Provides day-to-day support for all phases of litigation in the Office including responses to subpoenas and discovery requests.
• Manages and maintains litigation document databases, including electronic document databases.
• Provides day-to-day coordination and support for all phases of the Administrative Magistrate Unit.
• Provides support to Chief Magistrate and other magistrates with document management for the AMU, including managing electronic docket, master calendar and other tracking databases.                                 
• Provides support for hearings as needed.
• Interfaces with attorneys and staff from agencies throughout all levels of government. 
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Entrance Requirements:

• At least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent art-time, paraprofessional experience in legal research or legal assistant work, or (B) an equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitution below:
• An associate’s or higher degree with a major in paralegal studies may be substituted for the required experience.
• Completion of one year of study at a recognized, degree-granting law school may be substituted for the required experience.  

License And/Or Certification Requirements:

• Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Class 3 Motor Vehicle Operator’s License may be required.
