As a Sr. Packaging Engineer, you will have a critical support role in our ATS team, as we work closely with our customers to define the future of commercial electric vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible to develop and optimize packaging solutions for inbound and outbound product. This is a fully remote position, reporting to the ATS Materials Manager, who is based out of Lawrenceburg, TN.

As a Sr. Packaging Engineer, you will have a critical support role in our ATS team, as we work closely with our customers to define the future of commercial electric vehicles. In this role, you will be responsible to develop and optimize packaging solutions for inbound and outbound product. This is a fully remote position, reporting to the ATS Materials Manager, who is based out of Lawrenceburg, TN.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and optimization as per global standard (ASTM, IS, Europe standard)
- Interact with global Advanced Thermal Systems team, understand the requirements, providing best optimal solution considering Quality, Delivery, Cost
- Designing of packaging material in Creo 4.0 and AutoCAD 2017 Software
- Static and Dynamic analysis of packaging material in Creo Advanced Simulation software
- Lean approach in packaging and simply the selection of packaging Materials
- Selection of EC, Burst Strength, Flute, and GSM based on load application
- Providing transport worthy packaging considering FCL, LCL, Sea, Air transit mode
- Sustainable solution, Go green, Circularity initiative by optimizing the existing projects
- Static and Dynamic validation trail on pilot packaging materials
- Design data revision documentation
- Layout optimization
- Providing root-cause corrective action (RCCA) for customer claims
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Packaging development
- Ability to understand package(s) with respect to size, fitments, weight, and handling to select packing items
- Well-versed with procurement activities for materials and managing the relative orders
- Negotiation skills with business urgency
- Strong planning and organization skills to manage packing material
- Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally; Relationship building skills with internal team members as well as customers and suppliers
- Adaptable; Flexibility and understanding in working in a changing environment
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 10% of travel required to visit Modine, supplier, and customer locations (approximately 1x/quarter)
