Senior Packaging Designer

First Aid Beauty is looking for a Packaging Designer to join our Creative Team at our headquarters in Newton, MA. This role reports to our Creative Director and will support the creative team in the design and production of all product packaging across our global line. This role will work collaboratively with our product development and marketing teams to design on-brand print and packaging collateral

The ideal candidate will have strong design skills and a passion for all things packaging! You should be a motivated self-starter with a strong eye for detail. Must have a strong portfolio that showcases knowledge and training in the world of print and packaging.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Translate creative briefs into innovative packaging designs that reflect a cohesive brand image for all First Aid Beauty products across our global market.
• Execute layout and production design for all packaging projects across Global primary and secondary SKUs– adhering to all outlined production specs and guidelines.
• Lead the maintenance and revisions of primary and secondary SKU packaging.
• Responsible for all revisions including typesetting, layouts, translations, etc.
• Ensure the integrity of the approved concept design throughout the production process, setting up specs and print ready files in partnership with our vendors.
• Work closely with in-house Creative, Product Development and Marketing teams from hand off concept through print production.
• Work cross functionally to turn around layouts on a fast timeline, tracking projects from proofing through sample approval in order to ensure all deadlines are met.
• Work with vendors during prepress/proofing process. Approve proofs from vendors, ensuring accuracy of artwork, color and finishes.
• Present cohesive designs to leadership and product development teams, sharing new ideas and innovations with the packaging space.
• Execute concepts and designs for influencer boxes, Ecom packaging and any additional “one-off” print projects as needed.
• Participate in weekly cross-functional meetings to discuss and track projects. 

Job Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

• At least 5-7 years of experience in the pack world
• Expert knowledge and skill in Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience designing packaging in the beauty space or at an agency designing packaging for beauty brands.
• A strong design portfolio that displays your knowledge of the print production and packaging process. Applications without a link to a portfolio website or attached .pdf will not be considered.
• Proven mastery of print and packaging best practices, technologies and creative standards.
• Strong understanding of print production and pre-press practices­– with a strong eye for detail.
• Strong eye for color, color matching and occasional press checks.
• Strong ability and understand of verifying accuracy of copy, regulated package elements, and basic compliance requirements.
• Ability to multitask under very tight deadlines.
• A detail orientated designer, able to design pixel perfect layouts.
• Self-motivated and eager to take initiative, able to work independently while prioritizing workload to meet all deadlines.
• Able to take creative direction and respond positively to feedback.
• Tuned into current and developing trends in print, illustration and packaging 

Starting Salary Range: $100-143K / year

Compensation for roles at P&G varies depending on a wide array of non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, degree/credentials, relevant skill set, and level of relevant experience.
