Job description

Sr. Network Engineer reports under the general direction of the Director of Networks and Telecommunications. Responsibilities include planning and designing the network infrastructure and enterprise network solutions; troubleshooting, installing, implementing and administering network systems. Also analyzes capacity issues and develops capacity planning models. Responsible for ensuring planned testing activities are executed and for developing network security guidelines. Collaborate with third-party support and service vendors to ensure that the network stays operational.


Responsibilities


Responsible for the design of the Clubs networks including WAN/SDWAN/LAN/WiFi networks to provide the networks for our branches, call centers, DR and Co-location facilities, and cloud infrastructure. This includes researching and recommending changes and improvements based on new and enhanced offerings available. Coordinates integration into WAN/SDWAN/LAN/WiFi environment. Evaluates and recommends changes to current network features to meet the Club's strategic goals.

Determines network requirements for Club hardware, software and telecommunications solutions; Defines, documents, and enforces system standards; Build and manage configuration and connections to maximize required network infrastructure and services; Develops project implementation plans, providing full documentation.

Maximizes network performance: Troubleshoots network problems, debugs network hardware, schedules upgrades; Recommend software and system solutions across multiple platforms and architectures to support the Club's information technology requirements.

Responsible for all of the Clubs Network equipment and software; Configure switches, routers, SDWAN and Wi-Fi, designing, administering, maintaining network connectivity, and directing system installation. Updates network equipment and software. Manage the following technologies: remote access, wireless, and bandwidth management.

Secures the Clubs networks by enforcing security policies and responds to security incidents and events; Conducts compliance audits, IP address auditing and verifies connectivity and performance levels; Development and administration of internal systems and recovery plans to maintain consistent, reliable network systems operations.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.

Responsible for managing and mentoring Network Engineering staff and handling advanced support issues. Ultimately, you will be responsible for the functional management of our network, the delegation of tasks, and the resolution of network issues.

Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Bachelors degree in information systems or related field and 5 plus years of relevant work experience

CCNA required

CCNP preferred


Experience:

Advanced knowledge in telecommunications and network design, enterprise voice, SIP technology and data communications equipment required.

Strong analytical and organizational skills

Advanced knowledge in a WAN/SDWAN/LAN/WiFi environment

Proficient with TCP/IP, backup solutions, and storage solutions, Cisco Routers, Switches and Firewalls, Terminal Services, Active Directory, IIS, VPN, DHCP, WINS, DNS.Ability to work independently and in a team environment meeting deadline as required.

Ability to explain technical concepts to technical and non-technical personnel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills required.

Strong relationships building skills required, with the ability to engender an atmosphere of teamwork required.

Internal expertise of support staff needs to be kept up-to-date in the climate of rapidly advancing technologies.

Unforeseen events can negatively affect operations so contingency plans must consider a host of technology complications.
