This role will support the Army National Guard. The role will develop system concepts and work on the capabilities phases of the systems development life cycle; translates technology, business requirements, and environmental conditions into system and network designs and processes. Develop and maintain business, systems, and information processes to support enterprise mission needs; develop information technology (IT) rules and requirements that describe baseline and target architectures. This role will also ensure that the stakeholder requirements necessary to support the organization's mission and business processes are adequately addressed in all aspects of enterprise architecture including reference models, segment and solution architectures, and the resulting systems supporting those missions and business processes.

 

This position requires specialized knowledge and skills in the architectures, technologies, tools, and techniques as illustrated by an in-depth understanding of the underlying hardware and software architectures, the ability to independently and quickly recognize, diagnose and resolve complex problems, and ability to evaluate and integrate emerging technologies.

 

Responsibilities and Duties:

Lead the engineering of all layers of the network to include security, network, and applications requirements.

Ensure overall health and strong security posture of complex Network Architectures.

Ensure the network and network services are engineered in accordance with defined performance metrics.

Collaborate with operations to coordinate complex network changes and upgrades for EOL and EOS components.

Perform capacity planning.

Develop, plan, and manage the bill of materials and associated budgets.

Prepare materials and oral presentations for customers and management.

Establish and maintain working relationships with vendors in the support of their products.

Evolve customer's vision by delivering a rigorous approach to IT modernization and transformations across the program.

Evaluate and prioritize modernization initiatives within Army National Guard.

Evaluate portfolios and collaboration on IT roadmaps and initiatives.

Plans and implements tech refreshes, upgrades and new equipment installs.

Manages project for decommissioning, equipment retirement and obsolescence.

 

Qualifications/Required Skills:

7 years of relevant and progressive experience in developing Network Architectures.

Excellent customer service and organization skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Must be highly organized and detail oriented.

Must be able to take initiative and work independently or as a member of a team.

Must demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: multi-tasking, critical thinking; and the ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately in a dynamic and fluid environment.

Must be able to create Strategic IT Roadmaps and architecture briefings.

Must have an active Secret Clearance.

Four year degree in Computer Science or related field. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience in Network Architectures, system analysis, and management of information technology may be substituted.

At least one of the following certifications: CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure, CCIE Routing and Switching, CCIE Wireless, or CCIE Service Provider.
