Senior Network Administrator

Position Summary:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for leading the network administration efforts, engineering and infrastructure and will work closely with the IT Security team, Technical Services Specialists and System Administrators to provide a robust 24/7/365 high available network environment. In addition, other responsibilities involve overall network health, monitoring services, the network infrastructure, protecting data and ensuring disaster recovery best practices are in place.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage the network infrastructure and configuration, including switches, firewalls, VPNs to ensure the network is secure and in compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements
• Following best practices, design, configure and install network switching, wireless infrastructure, VLANs, and other network infrastructure
• Strong ability to troubleshoot complex network and switching environment
• Participate in the budget planning process to ensure proper maintenance agreements are in place on all equipment and life cycle replacement processes are in place
• Responsible for data center and IDF management, including all supported electrical, HVAC and fire suppression systems
• Responsible for data communication, including fiber infrastructure and connectivity to multiple locations, including all redundancy required for a 24/7/365 environment
• Responsible for VOIP, radio, cellular and DAS services
• Implement security safeguards to secure the slot network is in compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Accountable to management, and vendors to provide ongoing monitoring, performance tuning and ensure service level objectives are met
• Train and mentor team members on convergence related applications
• Lead and receive cross-discipline training to ensure maximum availability of systems under management
• Carry and respond to off-hours communications device, to provide 24x7 support for systems under management
• Responsible for maintaining and enforcing confidentiality and privacy rules pursuant to all applicable regulations
• Lead Change Management process and methodology as it relates to Network Administration
• Creation and maintenance of technical troubleshooting and operational documentation for all systems
• Communicate effectively verbally, and in written form
• Lead the pursuit of opportunities to improve knowledge, tools, and processes for systems under management
• Responsible for enforcing the privacy rules pursuant to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) as applicable to ilani
• Responsible for understanding and ensuring PCI compliance requirements are effectively implemented
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Information Technology with a minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Network Administrator. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
• 3 years’ minimum experience working as part of an IT team
• Demonstrated Cisco switch configuration experience (Technical certifications such as Network+, Security+ may be considered. Other VoIP experience, considered.)
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and configuring switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless systems in a larger environment
• Demonstrated cable infrastructure management experience
• Demonstrated understanding of, VLAN’s, routing protocols, UDP, QoS, spanning tree, DMZ, access lists and 802.11
• Working knowledge of account management, password auditing, network and web-based vulnerability scanning, virus management and intrusion detection
• Ability and willingness to learn new technology and systems with minimum training and adapt to changing technical needs and systems
• Requires weekend, evening work, working different shifts, and flexible hours
• Willingness to actively participate in a team environment
• Must be able to walk, stand, reach, and grab for a 10-hour shift
• Must be able to work in a smoking environment when on the casino floor
• Must be willing to adhere to company safety measures in response to COVID-19 (wear a face mask, social distance)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field
• CCNA and/or CCNP certifications
• Experience with Ruckus wireless systems
• Experience with Aruba wireless systems
• Cisco VoIP experience
• APC and other UPS management experience
• Understanding of compressed IP video and audio transmission and routing procedures

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
