Senior Mortgage Loan Coordinator (Remote eligible: Missouri)
Job Description

Summary:
This position is responsible for the data integrity of customer and loan information as it is populated within loan applications and product packages. The Senior Mortgage Loan Coordinator is the primary associate that works alongside the Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) in processing and closing Mortgage Loan applications for residential loan products offered including, but not limited to: Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, Mortgage Revenue Bond Programs, Jumbo, and Portfolio. Additionally, the Mortgage LC will develop strong working relationships with the Bank’s external customer base, as well as with third party vendors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains strong knowledge of the Bank's "credit culture" and advises the Mortgage Loan Officer on deviations from standard practices.
  • Provides guidance and training to other Loan Processors in support of department leadership.
  • Processes mortgage applications in accordance with company compliance policy. Enters customer and loan information into the Bank’s Mortgage Processing system with specific attention to data integrity at the point of input.
  • Communicates with outside agencies including Title Companies, Real Estate Agents, Appraisers, Correspondents, Insurance Agencies, Borrowers and various Financial Institutions to obtain all documentation requirements, such as title work, appraisals and credit bureau reports.
  • Interacts, both verbal and written, with clients and other third parties per MLOs direction on collecting data, documents and various general customer service requests.
  • Verifies applicant’s personal information, including debts, assets and credit reports.
  • Works with internal departments to obtain payoffs, deposit and loan verifications, HELOC’s and subordination requests.
  • Evaluates loan documentation to ensure compliance with investor and Portfolio guidelines and specifications.
  • Assembles and coordinates required financial information from Client to Underwriting Credit Department for analysis as needed.
  • Prepares and submits loan files for underwriting. Transmits loan files to the automated Underwriting system.
  • Schedules closings with borrowers, MLOs and title companies. Prepares and sends closing figures and documentation to title companies.
  • Transmits files to post-closing.
  • Determines best methods for meeting contractual or pipeline deadlines and escalates issues as necessary.
  • Maintains credit files to include filing current documents and removing stale dated documents.
  • Provides back-up support for other Mortgage Loan Coordinators during vacations and other high-volume periods.
  • Stays abreast of new types of loans and other financial services and products.
  • Participates on internal committees and task forces as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • None
Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Associates Degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ banking experience with exposure to mortgage processing and/or closing
  • Previous banking experience beneficial
  • Knowledge of calculation methods for self-employment income per agency guidelines beneficial
