Riverhawk Company designs and manufactures high performance driveshafts, as well as their numerous proprietary accessories. These products are used globally in many applications, including the Oil & Gas and Power Generation Industries. Our designs are critical to the operations of the world's largest energy providers, such as ExxonMobil, Shell, Valero, and GE.
As a leader in these industries, Riverhawk Company is looking to add a SeniorMechanical Engineer to its team. This full-time position is based out of the New Hartford, NY office.
What you'll do:
- Work closely with customers to determine their needs and specifications
- Design custom solutions or choose and apply an existing product to meet customers' needs
- Use the latest FEA software, in-house programs, and classical equations to analyze and optimize designs
- Develop 3D CAD designs and 2D drawings for manufacturing
- Collaborate with vendors, as well as the manufacturing and quality teams to support the production of the designs
- Develop test equipment and procedures to validate designs
- Perform or lead technicians in the completion of product validation testing
- Develop documentation in the form of drawings and instruction manuals to assist the customer in safe and proper use of products
- Provide technical support to customers and field service technicians for the life of the product
- Travel to customer sites to coordinate design work, present proposals, and troubleshoot issues
What we need: Applicants should have the following skills and abilities.
- Minimum eight years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering design position
- Minimum BSMET required, BSME preferred
- Prior design experience with Rotating Equipment, Driveshaft (Coupling) design experience preferred.
- Prior experience with mechanical component design using carbon steels, alloy steels, tool steels, and/or precipitation hardened stainless steels
- Design experience using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to analyze stress and deflections in mechanical components and structures. SolidWorks Simulation, Simulia, or Ansys preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An energetic and engaging personality
- Ability to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to travel occasionally, sometimes on short notice
- Hydraulics and pneumatics experience preferred
