Position Summary

Great Gray is a non-depository trust company chartered and licensed in Nevada and operates a “Three Lines of Defense” risk management framework. This position supports the “Second Line” independent risk management function and will support and provide guidance on complex compliance risk management activities for Great Gray in accordance with the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and related policies.

This individual will execute compliance risk strategies, including review of marketing materials, oversight of policies and procedures, completion of compliance risk assessments, monitoring, reporting and training. This individual will play a key role in identifying, controlling, and managing compliance risk exposure.

This role will be a full-time hybrid model with 4 days in one of our three office locations: Boston, Las Vegas, or Wilmington, DE.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Consult with department managers on compliance matters.
• Review and approve marketing materials to ensure compliance with industry guidelines and internal policies
• Develop, review, and make recommendations on Marketing Compliance policies, standards, and department procedures designed to achieve compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Lead and manage projects with minimal supervision related to Marketing Compliance communications
• Ensure compliance with existing processes and procedures and recommend new ones that most effectively anticipate, manage, and reduce risk to the business.
• Assist in completing enterprise level Risk Assessments to identify compliance risk exposure and help the organization prioritize compliance risks.
• Monitor and review business unit performance and make recommendations with respect to established compliance monitoring processes. Identify gaps and additional compliance monitoring mechanisms to enhance and strengthen the compliance monitoring and control structure.
• Review and make recommendations on client facing content and/or marketing content to ensure compliance in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Evaluate new/revised processes, technology, products and services to identify and assess compliance risk issues, as well as the control structures needed to mitigate the risk.
• Provide guidance on the development of remediation plans. Manage the timely completion of remediation plans and other projects to address issues identified internally and by Internal Audit or external regulators. Validate the quality of the plans implemented.
• May assist with committee governance compliance activities, such as preparation and review of meeting agendas, materials and minutes.
• Identify and escalate compliance risk issues to the Chief Compliance Officer.
• Develop and/or deliver training to support employees in fulfilling their compliance responsibilities.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of the laws, rules and regulations with which Great Gray must comply and an awareness of issues of recent regulatory focus.
• Assist with regulator relationships, compliance with regulations, and examinations, including the State of Nevada, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), DOL Department of Labor (DOL), Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and other regulatory agencies, as applicable.
• Assist with Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) & Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) compliance with laws and rules that apply to Great Gray.
• Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree OR in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 10 years higher education and/or work experience, including minimum 6 years relevant work experience in compliance, legal, audit, risk or other relevant function in the finance or asset management sector.
• 6+ years of related work experience in compliance, legal, audit, risk or other relevant function in the finance or asset management section.
• Experience reviewing Marketing Compliance materials
• 3 years minimum of ERISA experience.
